Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman: Real or hoax, that was good TV | PopWatch Blog | EW.com (http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/02/joaquin-phoenix.html)

It's gotta be a joke

I don't know. He's put on a bunch of weight and totally let himself go. He looks and sounds like ass. If this is a joke, to what end? He's making a fool out of himself. Not sure what the motive would be. I hope it is a joke for his sake. He's a great actor, and definitely better off on the big screen than as some drug fueled, Jerry Garcia look alike modern day wanna-be hip hop star.

It just seems like too radical of a change. It's too calculated for me. Who knows, maybe he has gone off the deep end... I'm just not buying it right now. He seems like too smart of a guy, at least he used to seem that way.

I don't know how his music career is doing, but I think the heroin addiction thing is working for him. Axel Rose school?? Brian Wilson Jr?
THAT is F...n incredible.
Letterman could not have paid for anything better than that....amazing

I thought Letterman was very disrespectful then again he's only funny when he is disrespectful.

Not so sure... if you watch the end of the interview, there's a bit of contention there (ie, the gum bit). Eerily reminiscent of the Crispin Glover interview a few years ago.

I don't follow celebrities. All I can say is, Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
