Obama's Joint Session of Congress SpeechMonkeydad 02-25-2009, 03:16 PM Yeah, let's discuss the response, not the actual speech... dmek25 02-25-2009, 03:30 PM help a bother out then. like i said earlier, missed it. what about the speech, buster? firstdown 02-25-2009, 03:44 PM Just like I can't wrap my head around how we have the cap room to keep Jason Taylor, Shawn Springs, DeAngelo Hall, AND acquire Albert Haynesworth, I can't wrap my head around how Obama can possibly: - get our deficit cut in half by the end of his first term - cut taxes to 95% of Americans - increase spending on infrastructure - infuse the financial system with enough cash to get banks to lend again You know me, I do the math. And I just can't see how it adds up, either for the Redskins or for Obama! But he was positive and he did unite the country. He's a good leader, and I like what he's doing in Afghanistan. The country needed to hear the positivity, even if it's mathematically impossible. I caught about 15min of his speech and all I heard was spend spend spend and like you don't understand how he can do all this spending and cut the deficit in half. I have never heard of theGOP's guy and did not even see him at all but from what I heard he was pretty flat and thats coming for the right. Schneed10 02-25-2009, 04:16 PM Question: Who the frick cares about Jindal, the governor of friggin LOUISIANA? How bout we focus on what Obama had to say, since he's the one charged with leading this country. firstdown 02-25-2009, 04:27 PM It was very canned. Probably intentionally so. He was handpicked by the RNC to deliver the response. It was pretty blah, just an along party lines kind of thing. Anyone else hear the MSNBC producer or host (someone off camera) say, "oh God," right before the Republican response? Silly lefties. This is becoming an on going theme with MSNBC but at least we know now where they stand and their bias reporting. 70Chip 02-25-2009, 05:46 PM I watched a classic Magnum PI instead. It was a Naval Intelligence plot where Col. Green is exchanging a Vietnamese agent for an American POW, with Thomas Magnum caught in the middle. djnemo65 02-25-2009, 06:15 PM Hey Schneed, this article does a pretty good job of at least beginning to chart the funding mechanisms for the President's various proposals. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/26/us/politics/26budget.html?hp 1stBlkPres 02-25-2009, 07:32 PM Jindal's aw-shucks demeanor was too much. If this is the Republicans best option, they're screwed in 2012. in 2012 it want matter who run's........ Obama is here to stay! no matter who likes it are not! Redskins247 02-25-2009, 09:10 PM ^ and we're done here. 1stBlkPres 02-25-2009, 09:30 PM ^ and we're done here. Thats Right. we are |
