Rosa Parks was a high school dropout. Also Josephine Baker, Redd Foxx (may his smutty soul RIP), Joe Frazier, Whoopi Goldberg, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, BB King, Eartha Kitt, Yaphett Kotto, LL Cool J, Charley Pride, and Barry White just to name a few.

Now, if President Obama wants to badmouth Conservatives, that's one thing, but I'm not about to sit here and let him badmouth The Maestro.

Really, no politics at all in how the numbers are presented? Come on, one has a HUGE pic of Iraq on the left side the other simply states the expenditures. One has all the non defense expenditures deriving from Congress which is appropriate, the other has lines going all over the place, and does a good job of obfuscation.
all in all its just alot of money going to be spent, and the bottom line is that the government is not going down anytime soon.(which i think was your point when showed it)

To tell you the truth I don't really know what you're implying with your post. The creator is politically motivated and as such that's why he put Iraq on there? That perhaps he should use a picture of masked men of Arab decent instead?

The War on Terror was not in the 2004 budget (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/usbudget/fy04/pdf/budget/defense.pdf) so you won't see it on the chart.
The War on Terror was in the 2009 budget (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/usbudget/fy09/pdf/budget/defense.pdf) and therefore is in the chart.
76% of money (http://fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL33110.pdf) allocated to The War on Terror goes to Iraq and 20% goes to Afghanistan. That's real talk right there.

Anywho, the Obama budget is out today (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/usbudget/fy10/index.html), we'll see if the creator is politically motivated. Not sure what I should look for though, maybe you can give me the right perspective.

the best way i can explain it, is when i looked at 2004 it seemed fairly straight forward that Congress was the primary authorizing agency. The next one i looked at, Congress was not seen at all and the Iraq war picture was very large. I was thinking of how people would react since most see this when they do their taxes, its with the tax forms.

In the first picture- people would most likely pin it on Congress
In the second people would react against the iraq war (bush/republicans)

it really was a general impression to the two charts, and thats the best i can explain. if it means nothing, well not my first post like that ;)

Thoughts on Obama's speech:

This was his best speech to date and this is coming from someone who has seen all his speeches.
He felt very comfortable and confidant. It was amazing to see some liveliness from the president.
Pelosi should have stood up and clap the whole night. No wonder she's house speaker, she knows how to be a cheerleader. Did she really need to cheer lead the whole god damn night though? I was feeling Biden's pain.
What was John Boner doing there? He looked like he had something stuck up his ass and the look on his face was awful.
I am very pleased to hear Obama is going to pursue universal health care.
It was kinda corny but liked the line "dropping out of high school [is] not just quitting on yourself, it's quitting on your country."
What about taxes for single people god damn it?!!! Is the cutoff line 250K for me?
Talk is cheap, show me the money and the budget...recovery.gov is garbage. I make better tracking system every time I take a piss.

Thoughts on Jindal's response:

It's not fair to compare him to Obama.
He tried way-way too hard. His Meet the Press performance was much better.
This is a big boy's league. There are limited roster spots -- friends and foes are trying to land a roster spot. You got to bring your A-game. When you intend to run for high office the line between friends and foes is murky.
The substance of his entire speech was bullsh*t much like the substance of his Meet the Press appearance. Complaining about funding for volcano detection system is unf*cking inexcusable, especially from a Louisiana official. Might as well have said why spend money shoring up the levies in NO. What I don't understand is whether they do some thinking at all.
I didn't think his intended audience was as wide as Obama's. Singing to the base won't cut it anymore. You're in a ditch and you're digging for like minded subscribers? I don't get it.
Government is bad, government is bad, government is bad. Uufffff.
Congratulation to the nation of India. Slumdog Millionaire was a fantastic movie.

Its going to be called Universal Crap. The left is offended when the goverment might listen in to a few persons calls but having their life history and total control over their heath care is not a problem. When your boss can dump your insurance because its now a goverment program and your taxes jump 10 to 20 % to pay for it you got what you wanted. T

Pelosi seemed to be having such a great time during the speech. I am so happy that her post-menopausal self can still get sufficient orgaisms just by the spoken word of; "we will spend the piss out of some money to get out of the economic crisis that our in-the-way government has gotten us into."

Yes, this was a great speech if you like to hear how our country will cure all that ills our nation, and the world. I hear that the big O's sights are set on trying to fix the woes of the universe too.

Barack The Builder, can he fix it? Yes he can.

Lord Obama will make the universe well again. Rainbows and bunny rabbits shall reign the earth, Unicorns will come out of hiding and it's all going to be magical.

Praises be Lord Obama, peace be upon him.

This is becoming an on going theme with MSNBC but at least we know now where they stand and their bias reporting.

It really bothers me how the hosts of MSNBC actually think the disasters over the last 8 years, you know: spending over a trillion $ attacking a country that had nothing to do w/ 9/11 (not to mention the horrific human casualties on both sides), the response to Katrina, the almost total politicization and destruction of the US justice system, a financial meltdown that stemmed directly from the executive branch belligerently refusing to reform domestic policies and to regulate the financial sector (SEC, which is part of the executive, even refusing to investigate Madoff after several insiders went directly to the commission)... that all these catastrophic mistakes are somehow the ex-president's responsibility. Those guys just don't get it...

Brother demek25, I personally don't have a problem with a woman doing anything in this country, other than standing in a trench next to me figthing bad guys. But, that is another topic not relevant to this thread.

I just think that Pelosi is a bad choice to sit at the "big table" of Congress, and ram her whacky and radical political agenda down our throat. People like her and her ilk, just grind my gears to no end.

For her to sit and stand, sit and stand, sit and stand all during the big O's speech, with that human excrement eating grin on her face just made me want to vomit.

It's her politics brother demek25 that I have a problem with, that's all. It has nothing to do with her gender.
