I have heard so much bad press about the Redskins lately that it is starting to piss me off. The Redskins have made the playoffs two of the past four years. Yes, they have not been the Steelers or the Patriots, but they seem to be on the right track. I believe that it will come together this year. I think they stole Jeremy Bridges and I am becoming a believer in Mike Williams and Chad Rhinehart. We made it to the playoffs, with Heyer at right tackle as a rookie. He will be much better this year than he was then. Our Oline will be the best that we have had since 1992, this year. Anyway, I would like to point out my top five favorite moves and hopefully, some of you will share yours.
1. Hiring Joe Gibbs. What an incredible feat that was. Whether he lost or won just to see him on the sidelines was awsome. I also believe his time here was very successful.
2. Getting Clinton Portis. He brought in a guy that is on his way to being a hall of famer. Should break 10000 yards this year and if I am right that our Oline will be awsome this year, he will have another 1400 plus yard season.
3. Sticking with Vinny Cerrato. Vinny Cerrato has done a far better job of utilizing the draft choices that he has been given than he gets credit for. Last year we drafted 10 players, mostly in late rounds and nine made it. The one that did not was Danny Smith's pick for a punter. He has not had an early round bust in since 2002, in Patrick Ramsey and many teams have had bad picks at QB His best days are yet to come and the fruits of last years draft will be born out this year.
4. Getting Albert Haynesworth. I think that the front office has learned from past mistakes, especially from the free agent class of 2006. Don't over pay guy that you believe is on the brink of greatness. Such as Lloyd, Carter and Randel El. Just get the best proven player in football and you cant go wrong.
5. Resigning Dockery and DeAngelo Hall. Both of these guy are going to have great seasons this year, assuming they stay healthy. The Redskins have received allot of heat for giving Hall such a large contract, but if he can play at the all level he is capable of, he will be a bargain at 8 mil a year.
