JoeRedskin 05-14-2009, 01:33 PM Wrong, they are quantifiable:
1. His name; COLT = Gunslinger, fast, dynamic, confident.
2. He wears a COOOOOL visor and full leg spandex in warm weather.
3. He set every college passing record known to man, and broke all of Timmy Chang's.
4. He wears # 5, same as Heath Shuler.
5. I'm pretty sure he can use telekenisis to make the ball curve around defenders into WRs hands.
Need I say more.
Telekenisis, f'ing brilliant!! I wish I had been clever enough to make this post.
Really, I think a large part of "Colt Madness" is b/c of his way cool QB name... Colt... I just like saying it... Colt, Colt, Colt, Colt, Colt.... mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
irish 05-14-2009, 01:34 PM What is a West Coast type of quarterback? Seriously. And how is Colt Brennan that QB and not JC? I mean, Cambpell is big, strong, mobile, and has a huge arm capable of making every throw. Seems to me he could fit in any system. It's not like he's a Manning/Marino type statue in the pocket. What is JC lacking that Colt has that supposedly makes him a "West Coast QB?"
I always hear about how big & strong JC's arm is but most of the time I see him throw the long ball the WR has to either stop or slow down and wait for the ball to arrive. Maybe I'm missing something but that doesnt sound like a big arm to me.

You're missing something.
Paintrain 05-14-2009, 01:43 PM I want to scream this at the top my lungs...Jason Campbell SUCKS! I can't wait until the beginning of the 2010 season when he is not here.
Outline some factual evidence to 'Jason Campbell SUCKS!' as you stated..
What games did he cost us last year?
What statistical evidence shows that he 'sucks' or even regressed last year?
Who else would you think gives the team a better chance to win this season?
What's your best case scenario for 2010, if Campbell's out then who is in?
GTripp0012 05-14-2009, 01:44 PM we love to name drop "west coast offense" on this forum. There are so many variations of it at this point, i don't think it's practical to label a qb as West Coast capable.I agree with you here, but shouldn't the same concept imply to outsiders judging a man's intangibles? We can't--literally are not reasonably capable--of seeing or evaluating intangibles. I have my questions that even the coaches, or other insiders, are capable of grading intangibles. So if coaches can't neccessarily see intangibles, and if we can't see them, do they matter?
This, essentially, is Matty's argument above.

Agree with GMScud. I remember JC over-throwing some deep balls or being too far inside/outside, but don't remember any under-thrown passes.
You're missing something.
As usual.
CRedskinsRule 05-14-2009, 02:12 PM There are a couple of clips. One, was DT's only TD that was called back, he was so open, and JC was throwing on the run, but DT basically just stopped and waited for the ball to come to him. Another was the Santana Moss catch in the NO game, he definitely had to slow down, and the defender almost caught him. Only two I remember offhand
The Goat 05-14-2009, 02:23 PM The worst was in '07 I think when JC overthrew his receiver on a streak right up the middle...somehow he was already behind the FS so it was a TD if the pass was there. The reason it stuck w/ me is cuz Buges effing lost it on the sideline...threw his hands up in disgust and just let the tongue roll.
...JC has struggled w/ accuracy off and on w/o question. The worst last year IMO was a short pass to a wide open Portis that somehow was well behind and too high...i think this one got picked off. Anyway, Jason has shown he can throw a good ball it's just a matter of consistency. Zorn working w/ him gives me confidence overall...JC will continue to improve, even markedly. Everybody just chill a bit...
