I don't see the point in signing a 3-4 DE/LB who's on the wrong side of 30. I'd rather stick with what we've got and see what shakes out.

I think he's probably better suited for a 4-3, or so I hear. But I don't know that he's a significantly better option than just bringing back Marcus Washington. I'm kinda lukewarm on the thought of bringing Ellis over here.

But weren't you the same guy who was all about starting Demetric Evans? Technically, he was a Cowboy once as well.

Ellis has been a starter for how long??? Did Evans even see the field in Dallas?

IF we bring him init would be for DE while RAK goes to SLB. Im ready to see how he pans out along with our new Dline.

Actually, yeah he did. 2001 (and a little in 2002)

Stop gap solution that is TOO OLD, lets build up our young guys ie. Blades, and those draft picks.

Well then picking up a long time Cowboy starter is just not the way to go IMO. Plus we've already got two old DE's.

Ok first greg still has it and yes if he would join your team it would be as a DE he is best suited for that position in the 4-3 and he's still pretty good specially as a pure pressure DE.

Ellis spent the better part of his career as a 4-3 DE. At North Carolina and up until Parcells made the switch to the 3-4 in Dallas. Ellis was not happy about the switch, but he still produced very well as a 3-4 OLB.

Yes Ellis is long-in-the-tooth. But any team that is looking for a 3rd down pass-rush specialist can get a very good one in Ellis at a good salary.

Ellis will not be unemployed long though. If I were to hazard a guess I would say either Cincinatti (re-unites with his former D-Coordinator, Mike Zimmer) or more likely New England.

The Patriots were talking to Jason Taylor before he signed in Miami and the Patriots are looking for a 3rd down pass-rush guy with 3-4 experience.

I would guess NE, but would not be at all surprised to see him sign in Washington either.
