i like the idea that the cowboys have invested their success in romo . . . i think he is a servicable but not great quarterback, a .500 win guy who can get you to the playoffs but not win the big one

^^^ this is what i posted back in '07 when the boys extended romo's contract. imo from when i first saw romo i saw a guy who made bad decisions but for some reason got lucky or bailed out by his wide recievers on jump balls. i didnt think his luck would last. i agree with jacobs assesment, romo scrambling on a broken play is his strength but that "strength" in my mind is overrated b/c he would get lucky or bailed out. just a strange stretch of good fortune by romo that overshadowed the times his gambling hurt the team.

now he is starting to come back down to earth and those miracle plays arent turning into miracles anymore. thats why i was happy the boys invested their future in a guy who looked good on stats and some miracle plays but really didnt have all the talent or tools to excel for a long stretch of time.

should be interesting to see how this season goes without TO and wonder boy not looking so wonderful.

go skins!!

Romo is an easy target and being a Skins fan you gotta take aim. But when its comes down to the bottom line he is a capable playmaker. If I were Jacobs, I would be criticizing the vastly overrated supposid Cowboy Defense. They are the real joke on that team. Ware is a monster, other than that they got nothing. Also Jacobs should take aim at doughboy W Phillips, this guy is nothing but a loser...check his playoff record. Im so happy that super idiot Jerry Jones retained him for this year. Romo and the offense will have another solid year.

Jacobs is an idiot. NFL Network broke it down and in the pocket Romo has a rating of something like 95. Out of the pocket it was like 50.

Good take on Campbell here also. You may have to scroll up:

Until Romo stops the choke act in playoff games, he's overrated in my book.

See I don't get all the choke talk. The guy dropped a snap holding for a FG and he choked? That wasn't even his position. And it was Patrick Crayton that choked in the playoff loss to NY. I think that's just media BS.

Guess everyone is watching a different Romo than you.

Id say dropping that FG was a huge choke job and one of my favorite plays of all time. I had the picture framed on my desk at work for a year. I loved to hear the Cowboys fans walk by and talk smack when they saw the picture and how bad of a choke job it was by Romo.

Well there ya' go.

Here I was attempting to bring something constructive to the table, and it turns into a bashing sessioin. Ok, fine.

But you wont find 2 threads dedicated to a Jason Campbell on a Cowboys forum. Can't say that about this one though. Just funny how there is almost the same amout of threads about Romo and the Cowboys here as there are about Jason Campbell.

I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

Sandtrap, good post about QBs and success. It's sort of like Presidents and the economy, no matter how it comes down, the Prez gets all the credit or all the blame.

In regards to this...

I dont think the defense had anything to do with Romo dropping the extra point hold.....oh wait, Ware distracted him by yelling from the sideline...must be the defenses fault. :)

Tony Romo was 16 the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game. Romo is overrated, and for a QB that hasnt won anything, talking heads still line up to kiss his butt.

If it makes you feel better, the same or worst things have been said about JC by some fans here. So I think something like this was expected.

Going back to the discussion, I think JC is on the hot seat, but I would put Romo in a much urgent situation. There are always high expectations of the Cowboys by the sports talking heads, and I'm sure many people see Romo as being indirectly responsible for getting TO out of Dallas, so that will also bring pressure on him to succeed with TO.

Ware couldn't have distracted him, he was hiding cuz he wanted Greg Ellis to go in. Maybe Romo was looking to see if he could find him though. Maybe the Cowboys can have a new kids book called Where is Ware.

:laughing2

Even if Jacobs were correct, it is foolish to provide a division rival with such bulletin board material. It conceivably could jack up Romo, the defenders who tackle Jacobs, or anyone else on the Cowpies team who feels loyal to Romo. If that is what Jacobs thinks, that is fine, but to spew it to the press, now that's just dumb.
