Well Sherman Lewis was playing BINGO with the seniors and has been out of the NFL since 2004 , but he could not do any worse than Zorn has. WTF do we have to lose the season is all but done. Its time to play for PRIDE.
He's called plays more recently than Zorn.

This Hue Jackson all over again?
I just hope Sherman Smith isn't the one calling plays now.
Any particular reason?

Sherm Lewis is the new Redskins play caller
Posted by Mike Florio on October 19, 2009 7:09 AM ET
The wake of the Washington Redskins' embarrassing home loss to the previously 0-5 Chiefs became even more bizarre than anyone could have imagined.
Conventional wisdom was that, if the 'Skins got scalped by the Chiefs, coach Jim Zorn would load his personal effects into a box and make the slow, final walk to the parking lot.
But instead Zorn has agreed to a second public emasculation this month, giving up one of his main functions -- calling the plays on offense -- in order to keep his job.
With that news came the bizarre word that Zorn and executive V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato would be putting their heads together to decide on the new play-caller on Monday morning.
The development created a sense of drama where there should have been none. I mean, who was it going to be? Coach Janky Spanky?
Sherm Lewis was the obvious selection, primarily because there was no other alternative.
We're told that it is Lewis, and Rick Maese has reported the same thing.
And so a guy who made his name in Green Bay as an offensive coordinator who deferred the play-calling function to Mike Holmgren will now be charged with the task of saving the asses of Zorn and, as we're hearing it, Cerrato, too.
Good luck with all that.
The only remaining question is whether the new arrangement gets one week or longer to save Zorn's job.
And, given the current disarray, whether the Redskins will be able to win any more games this year.

I TOLD YOU FOLKS SKINS WERE GOING TO LOOSE TO CHIEFS. Hopefully you folks woke up including Matty7!
Redskin reform:
* Terminate QB & RB.
* Terminate Coach & staff.
* Terminate GM & front office idiots.
* No more paying 1 billion dollar for a player.
PS- Also terminate that bingo guy.
Um thanks for the call out but I predicted a Skins loss this week.

Regardless of who calls the plays we're looking at a team stuck in low gear, and watching them play is comparable to serving a life sentence without parole. No matter how well you behave you're never going to get out.

I hope this isn't the case. I believe that a creative playcaller (not with gadgets, but one who calls the game and not his playsheet) can make a huge turnaround in this offense. The only problem of course is we wasted our soft schedule to prove that Zorn can't do it.

What has Sherman Smith done to be the playcaller?
But it seems as though it will be Lewis anyway, no surprise. I'm curious as to what Zorn will do now. They want him to be more of a "head coach" and work with the QB they say. But at this point, what work is there to do with the QB? I mean you just benched him, although he should start next week, and you've been working with him for well over a year now. Often, it seems, at the expense of other areas of the team. Unless working with the QB means Colt Brennan/Andre Woodson? As for being more of a "head coach" I suspect that means making key decisions such as "punt or go for it on 4th down", but do we trust Zorn to make those decisions? I don't know
I of course want us to win next week, but it's probably just time to put Zorn out of his complete misery.

LOL it's a total mess right now isn't it?
An outsider who's been with the team for a few weeks is now calling the plays?? It's cluster F time at Redskins Park.
And it's only getting worse. We're going to get TROUNCED against some of these heavyweight teams ahead on the schedule.
