WaldSkins 11-08-2009, 11:34 PM Last thing we need right now is more dirty players. We've gone from reflecting Gibbs character to miroring Snyder.
We would end up moving him into the secondary anyway.
SFREDSKIN 11-09-2009, 12:09 AM He's good in college, but won't be in the pros. Why, cause he's white plain and simple, and he's slow. name one good white runningback in the league. And no Jacob Hester isn't good, but he was good in college.
What is being black or white have to do with talent? Is that mean that a black QB or coach is not as good as a white one? What color was Riggo? Have you seen Gerhart play? He plays with heart and guts and has had great games against Oregon, USC and all other Pac10 teams. They play USC this weekend, I suggest you watch this kid play.
GTripp0012 11-09-2009, 12:11 AM Gerhart's got third round potential, but I don't think he's our answer.
He's got game though.

Like I said, I would draft him on the 3rd if we make a trade or 4th if he lasts till then. We need OL first and foremost.

Thats why I love the O-Line. Its the only position in football with virtually no preconcieved notions of racial bias. Of course if one wants to argue the validity of stereotypes in sports then I suggest you look no further then the worlds game, where virtually every race fields elite players. Plus if white people are so slow then how come the worlds fastest soccer player is a white guy (Messi)? Using race to determine athletic prowess is as useful as a hangnail. In short Iagree with Fred.

Sure theres exceptions to every sterotype, and I agree that with the OL especially its probably the only position where it doesn't matter what race you are cause they all perform the same. QB I tend to go white, but don't get me wrong there are a lot of black QB's that are or where good. McNabb comes to mind first. But RB is, in our day, a typical black position. Like I said in my original statement name me one good white running back in the NFL. Riggo played in the days when players ran 4.9's and there weren't really any 4.4 speed guys. He played in the days when a 300 lb lineman were a rarity.
And I've seen Gehrhart play and he's a great college guy but not an nfl guy. He's just like jacob hester IMO, and Hesters been pretty lame for the chargers so I say save this pick for an OLman

With those dinosaur attitudes of yours, did you time travel to get to the 21st century?
Read other comments above. To correlate race with athletic talent as you have done is not just unethical, it is inaccurate.

No its pretty accurate if you ask me, and true, its just that no one has the balls to put it up online, because race is such a heated issue.

No. It is not the case that I think like you do but I am too cowed to say it. The fact is, I just don't see the world in terms of race like you do. Few people these days share your racist perspectives.

Look, I'm white, and I'm saying to not draft the white guy in terms of this gehrhart guy. I don't see all of the NFL like this, but its a topic that does come up, thats why theres a rooney rule, and other things involving race. I don't see how you can say I'm racist when I'm going against my own race, if I were racist I'd say draft the white guy, which I'm not.
Anyway since this thread is about who we should get in 2010, I think we should get Russell Okung or Ciron Black cause they both seem to be great LT's from LSU and OKSU. Jason Fox of miami seems like a good pickup at RT in the later rounds.
