30gut 02-06-2010, 07:31 PM Yeah, we don't need another Vick in the NFL.
We don't need another Vick in the NFL? Huh?
How many of these option/athletic/running star Qbs have won a SB? None.
You mean other then Joe Montana and Steve Young?
BTW-If you measure a QB only by wether or not they win the SB you're discrediting many great QBs like Marino, Kelly, Moon etc
Randal Cunningham was great to watch, but didn't win jack at Philly, ditto with McNabb(at least he went to a SB), and now Vick. You want a mobile guy that can get out of trouble, but not necessarily a QB/RB type. The only SB winning QB that was a really good runner was Steve Young.
Look dude, forget it.
This thread is about late round gems, which might be a moot point as Brown continues to impress and move up the draft boards.
01/28/2010 - SENIOR BOWL RISER: QB Jarrett Brown, West Virginia: For all of the hype that Tim Tebow received this week, Brown was consistently the South's best quarterback. He had only one season as the starter after serving behind Pat White, but has the arm-strength and accuracy worthy of development. - Rob Rang, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
01/27/2010 - Senior Bowl, Tuesday: With all of the talk about Tebow, some people may not have noticed that the ball flat-out jumps off the hand of West Virginia quarterback Jarrett Brown. His accuracy was not deadly, but he gave tight ends running down the seams and receivers on the sideline every opportunity to make a play. Brown is still working on getting the ball from under center and is stiff in his drop. His solid arm and ability as a runner, however, bodes well for his future as a playmaker at the next level. - Rob Rang and Chad Reuter, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
It appears for some reason that your dug in anti-Brown and that's fine be me.
I say this because you've basically been downing him ever since the first time i mentioned him.
I've said and other posters have said that Brown is not a 'running QB' but you persist in refering to him as such.
I wonder what your opinion is of Colt McCoy?
53Fan 02-09-2010, 10:55 PM This guy looks like he could help on ST's and either play OLB or stand in for Orakpo when he lines up at DE. Could be a good pick for the 5-7 rounds.
Joe Pawelek, LB, Baylor (http://cdsdraft.com/profile.php?id=2430)

He isn't a running QB, but one of those guys that will hesitate as to whether he should take off with it. That is what killed Vick in Atlanta in my opinion. ALso when was the last time a Mountaineer made good in the NFL? Major Harris was a real talent also at WVU, didn't do much in the pros though.

YOU are assuming he's one of those guys that will always think about taking off.
ALso when was the last time a Mountaineer made good in the NFL? Major Harris was a real talent also at WVU, didn't do much in the pros though.
Well there's a strong point.
When was the last time a player from school X had success in the NFL?
^^This isn't exactly a strong arguement.
Like i said before for whatever reason you don't like Brown even though we were initially talking about him as a late round prospect i.e. a prospect that obviously needs development.
Wether you like it or not its most likely a moot point now as he's no longer a late round prospect because he's played his was into the mid-round with a strong showing during Senior Bowl week.
Apparently they aren't seeing the same things your seeing.
Anyway, no need to go back and forth with your spurious claims against Brown. Suffice it say you don't like him as a prospect because you view him as a run first QB.
Answer this question and let just drop it? Cool?

CultBrennan59 02-15-2010, 04:17 PM This guy isn't even projected to get drafted, yet is the perfect Shanahan type back.

Quarterbacks – West Virginia's Jarrett Brown has put on a show this week. His quick release reminds me a lot of Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Michael Vick's. He snaps the ball in his delivery with terrific velocity and a tight spiral. While he may need some development to become capable of starting in the NFL, Brown certainly has the talent needed to do so. You could definitely argue that Brown is a better pocket passer than his former teammate Pat White was when he entered the draft last year. With team's becoming more athletic in the NFL, Brown should find a home in the middle of the draft.
Lots of these popping up as soon as I read this.

Porter definitely looks good, he sure wasn't easy to tackle.. Granted, the team doesn't play against big name teams.. But I definitely would give him a look if I was Shanahan or Allen..

Seriously, where you see the red flag?
Since when is having a quick release and a near text book throwing motion a bad thing?
I see a red flag with your post, lol
You realize that the comparison was of their releases?
