You need to fix the tree:

1. Get a bolt that is long enough to go through the tree.
2. Have someone hold the branch back in place as you drill a hole through
tree were the split occured.
3. But the bolt through the tree and tighten it so to pull the tree back
together.
4. Cut off bolt flush with the nut and tree will heel over time.

Hmmm...may work it is a really small tree, waist high. My neighbor suggested electrical tape.

Just use screws that are not too big and it will work just fine. It will take months even more for the tree to heal so you need to use screws to hold it together. I did this with a Dog Wood tree and it worked great.

suck it matty. only got about 6 more inches on the ground left here in annandale can't wait til this crap is all gone
