The Otter Box case is pretty cool. My wife has one b/c she's way more careless with her iPhone than I am. I think the case is fantastic for protecting the phone, but it's so bulky. I have a case on my iPhone, but it's sleek enough to fit in my pocket. The Otter Box is not.

Anyway, as someone who has already handled and played with the new iPhone- It's definitely an improvement, but not significant enough for any 3GS owners to upgrade before they're eligible. Trust me on that one.

yeah the otter box case i have is a little irritating to get out in a hurry but i can deal with it. it would be pretty easy if i used the holster but i don't think i could rock the holster, maybe a fanny pack but no holster. i swear i could throw the phone into a wall and it would be fine. it's weird taking it out of the case or using my fiancee's curve cause it doesn't even feel like the same phone

So i guess there have been rumors for a while but this is the first time ive seen a national newspaper mention it as happening. I got to say im pretty sad about this….

I have a motorola droid on verizon, and ever since having a smart phone ive taken the protectionist stance on my network. I dont want tons of people switching over to Verizon or the hold outs that wouldnt scarfice leaving verizons network slowing down my network. I feel bad thinking and feeling this way and im really a equality and more the marry type guy but im really discouraged by this.

It was only a matter of time.

I would've bought a Droid by now but because of the type of work I do I wouldn't want to have it anywhere near where I work haha. Too often I get chemical on my pants/pocket and my Voyager has a cracked screen because sometimes a lot of pressure gets put on my pockets and that's how it ended up cracked. I wouldn't want to risk that with a nice ass phone like the Droid or the Iphone coming to Verizon in January.

I'll pick up the HTC EVO 4G or Samsung Epic 4G when both of them become available.

I have the 3GS iPhone, and I recently upgraded the software to 4.0 OS. Pretty cool features. I REALLY like that you run other apps with Pandora playing, and being able to create folders for apps definitely cuts down on clutter. And of course you can now have your apps sitting on top of your background pictures.

I LOVE the camera/camcorder functionality of the new 4G. Apparently Apple got some guys from Canon to come design it.

I hear the 4GS comes out around Christmas time, which is right when I'm eligible for an upgrade. So I'll wait until then.

as long as it doesn't punish the network we'll be okay

how long have you been with verizon? I just switched to them a couple of months ago and apparently in a year there's a renewal/upgrade program but there's a fee.. any clue what it is?
