budw38 06-25-2010, 03:21 PM I think one of the things that is really messed up is the age of consent. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a pedophile, it's just that the law doesn't care if two 12 year olds are screwing like rabbits, but the minute somebody is 18 having sex with a minor, it's the end of the world.
Rape is still rape, but i see so many young men, and young women, whose lives get destroyed because of this age of consent stuff. The law doesnt care that they both wanted to have consensual sex, only that one person was legally an adult and therefore it is a crime.
They have to have some mitigating factor that keeps it fair. You can get a drivers license at 16, but yet sex is still illegal until your 18. My wife is 5 years younger than me, that means i would have been in jail when our relationship began in high school, going by today's laws.
Snake , 16 year olds can have sex ,with other 16 year olds , when an adult starts having sex with a minor , thats when it becomes a crime . As far as an 18 year old having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend , i agree that he should not be charged with a crime , that seems plain stupid . Now as far as you having 5 years on your wife , well you are both adults , however if you were 18 and having sex with a 13 year old ,,,,, thats a crime < not saying you were or even knew her then > , but if an 18 year old even attempted to hook up with either my 13 or 15 year old niece ... he would be safer in police custody then if I walked in on them . Any how , have a nice weekend SS .
over the mountain 06-25-2010, 03:28 PM budw - man, i hope you dont open it up when theres traffic. i got no probs with people doing 100 when the coast is relatively clear but when its 5:30 pm on a tues and your trying to do 100 mph in traffic on I-95, your just putting everyones lives in danger.
not preachin, well maybe i am, but as a guy who spends 2-3 hours a day on highways, i see that crap in the video way to often. alot of times putting other people in danger.
check the chad jones thread for some perspective.
but please please please dont open it up in traffic and swerve and slam on brakes. when you speed then try and squeeze into a tight spot between 2 cars in an attempt to lane change, you are putting people in danger who just want to get home to their kids and family and some cold ones.
dont be that guy, please.
CRedskinsRule 06-25-2010, 03:32 PM finally a good line in this thread:
get home to their kids and family and some cold ones
out of context but at 3:25 pm, all I want to do now is get out of this place, get home to my boys, and have a beer or two. the rest of this thread - fugget about it!
budw38 06-25-2010, 03:37 PM Yeah, giving Condoms out to 1st graders is pretty bad. Way to young. I think anyway. But, this wouldn't have even been an issue if Ronald Reagan didn't sit on his ass when the HIV/ AIDS epidemic hit San Francisco! If Reagan had actually done something to stop this and not made jokes about it there would be no safe sex stuff going on right now. Heck, just about all the other STD's are curable. But AIDS, thats not curable and it scares the crap out of everyone forcing them to "wrap it up".
And its all because our former President decided not to do anything about it. When he probably could have stopped it.
Here check it out:
Happy 99th Birthday, Ronald Reagan! | The New Civil Rights Movement (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/happy-99th-birthday-ronald-reagan/politics/2010/02/06/7688)
Not sure the link is accurate , not all " quotes " are true . Just curious , why didn't the Dems in concress stop AIDS ? What about the leadership Europe , did RR make them ignore AIDS ? What about China , why didn't they end AIDS .... why didn't Clinton stop AIDS ? Most illnesses /disease can be controlled or prevented by us as individuals , diet , exercise , not taking up smoking , not to drink excessively , ect. Don't forget , when RR ran for president in ' 80 ... breast cancer happened to be public enemy #1 and very few knew much if anyting about AIDS until around '85 / 86 . Besides ,the President of the USA cannot prevent disease in our country let alone what happens around the world . Not saying RR or future presidents /world leaders couldn't have been more pro-active , but we do have other diseases that we have spent over 100 years trying to cure , cancer , MS , MD , diabetis , ect . No one man is responsible for all good , or bad .

dont be that guy, please. Hey ,I thought you knew that ws a clip from youtube < I think Ca. > .... that is not me driving , nor do I know who is . I did have a hotrod '71 chevy , but I would never drive like that with other cars on the road , or go from lane to lane . Im 45 years old , have lost 4 good friends over the years from car /motorcycle accidents , honestly , for what it is worth , i have a great deal of respect for our roads and other drivers , bikers and cyclists . And I do not drink and drive , sorry if you thought one of you warpath brothers would behave that way .... have a great weekend.

My wife was 17, and 3 months away from turning 18. I was almost 22. I get your point though, and fully understand. We did not marry until she was 19. I was 23 years old at the time. Her parents knew we were dating and we had their full support and blessing.
GhettoDogAllStars 06-25-2010, 04:15 PM And you think a six year old is mature enough to make that choice ..... really ?? Maybe we can give kids a nice pair of boots after graduating elementary school and ask them if they would like to hike MT Everest . Or a sail boat to sail across the world , after all , its their choice .....
Six year old children aren't mature enough to make any decisions, but to try and influence their behavior by denying them the truth is the wrong approach, IMO.
So, since I don't want my kid to try to hike Mt. Everest, I will simply deny that it exists. I'll try to make sure that he doesn't learn about it in school. Oh, and I'll also tell him that oceans are not real. Problem solved, I'm so smart.
TheMalcolmConnection 06-25-2010, 04:20 PM Do you really think in your Grandfather's time kids weren't bonking in the hay barn?
And you know what else they were doing? Making their OWN damn condoms from the lambs they slaughtered THAT morning AFTER they walked to the farm twenty miles in the snow barefoot.
saden1 06-25-2010, 04:46 PM Thanks for reminding me why I am trying like hell to stay out of the political discussions.
Go Skins
I'm sorry you feel that way. Have a nice weekend.
Trample the Elderly 06-25-2010, 05:23 PM Do you really think in your Grandfather's time kids weren't bonking in the hay barn?
If a girl had gotten knocked up in my grandfather's time they'd send her off to live with a relative in another town. It's called ostercizing. As for the farm, there have always been shotgun weddings. My homeboy would be single to this day had he not knocked up his gal. Three children and a marriage later he's still going strong. That's because he still has what so many these days lack: honor, integrity, and a sense of personal responsibility.
You're attacking the symptom and not the problem. The problem is Americans are so rich that they can afford to be lazy and let someone else handle their problems. Most of these "so-called" social problems would take care of themselves if we allowed them to.
"So you knocked up your teenage sweet-heart huh boy? Well pack your shit, get a job, and take care of her. And don't show up for Christmas unless you've got a ring on her finger. If you don't you're no son of mine."
That's how it used to be.
Americans are so damned spoiled that they want to have their cake and eat it too. That will come to an end soon enough. The more you allow someone else to make decisions for you, the further into servitude you will sink.
You have a different philosophical approach than I do.
You seem to think man is a perfectable and all problems can be solved.
I believe man is inherently flawed and should be left to take care of his problems on his own.
You assume most kids will have sex. I don't. How many pregnancies do you hear of at all male / all female boarding schools? So using that logic do you give them rolling papers and needles if you assume they'll do drugs? Are you going to re-name fresh needles safety devices?
Maybe we should teach kids math and physics, not graft and getting physical?
