Ok, I understand the effect smoking may take as far as second hand smoke. But I am a smoker, and i must say. If you dont like smokers or smoking, take yourself somewhere else. Lets use a bit of common sense on this thread, if something is not good for you. Then dont get around it. And to end this comment i hope the Redskins smoke Dallas. Lol.
Religion is worse than smoking.
Smoking destroys the body, religion destroys the mind.
Who said that?
Pope John Paul? Pee Wee Herman?

That's like saying if you don't want to be hit by a drunk driver on new years eve, stay at home. Why should my plans have to change because you want to poison yourself and potentially those around you?

Very good point, But if you dont like associating with smokers wouldnt it make sense to not surround yourself around them. Restaurants and social gathering places could ban smoking all day, but you will always have smokers and that is something that nonsmokers are going to have to deal with.

You know ironically my closest friends in college were all smokers, I was the only non-smoker. Had a cigarette once, didn't like it, moved on. But again why should I have to suffer because you want to harm yourself and potentially others?

What about a child who doesn't have a choice?
In MD they banned smoking in bars/restaurants and since they did that I have rarely run into second hand smoke.

I think the owners of the bar should have the choice and have to post smoking or non smoking signs on the door (if that is even needed). Let the consumers choose. I did smoke and I don't understand why there where not more non smoking bars and restaurants.

I think the reason you wont find too many non smoking bars and restaurants is because all the nonsmokers were hanging out with all the smokers.
