mredskins 08-17-2011, 03:05 PM lol this place cracks me up I swear
Tell me why do you think he is so special? I have watched everyone of his pro games.
When I watch the Ravens O The only player that stands out to me as special is Ray Rice. Their offense which is not bad has been their weak point over the years and the leader of that O is Joe.
Lotus 08-17-2011, 03:06 PM I have watched Flacco a lot especially living in the Baltimore area. He is a good solid QB who has trouble when the game is on the line. Many here had hoped he would be their Manning/Brady. He is not them nor will he ever be.
I honestly beleive he has peaked, he is right now what he will always be a good solid starter in this league but will never be a super star.
Some people sad the same thing about Peyton Manning early in his career: not good at the end of games, underperforms in the playoffs, etc.
Flacco is just starting to enter his prime.
I never said he was special, he's a good QB, better than some of you are giving him credit for that's for sure. I just think it's funny to say a 4th year guy has already peaked.
mredskins 08-17-2011, 03:10 PM OK I will eat my crow if he turns out to be the next great thing, I don't see it.

So if he is a good QB now and he has not yet peaked in your opinion then the next step would logically be that he would be come "special". So yes you are saying he is on the "special" path.
I am just saying the dude peaked and he is now a good but not great QB, I don't see him making the special step.
If given the choice between him and Matt Ryan I take MR.

If I'm saying he hasn't peaked, I'm just saying he's capable of further growth.
You're the one saying special. Whatever that means.
skinsfaninok 08-17-2011, 03:22 PM I don't think he's a bum, 25 td's is pretty dang good. I just think he's a guy that won't carry a team to the SB. In fact didn't he have like 20 passing yards in that game vs NE in the playoffs?
He's junk alright:
In his rookie year, he threw for 2,971 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while starting all 16 regular season games to become only the eighth rookie quarterback in NFL history to start a playoff game. By leading the Ravens to two road wins in the 2008-09 NFL Playoffs, he became the first rookie quarterback in league history to win two playoff games. In his second season, Flacco improved to 3,613 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, and set single season franchise records for completion percentage (63.1) and quarterback rating (88.9). In his third year in the NFL, Flacco is ranked first all time in Ravens history for passing yards (10,081) and passing touchdowns (60). By starting in two playoff games in 2009, Flacco earned the record for most starts by a quarterback in the first two seasons in NFL history (38). Flacco became just the fourth quarterback to bring his team to the playoffs in his first three seasons, and is the first to win a game in each.

Was it Flacco who got them all the playoff kudos? Or maybe more so that defense.
And the Raven's history stuff is junk becasue really they have never even had a good QB in their short history.
And by special I mean this:

Of course it's a team effort but he's part of that team. They don't do it all with D.
