no thanks

From what I've heard of him, I would have to agree. He's another one-year wonder. His stock is falling because of that and perhaps that makes him likely to be available at ten. I imagine he's still regarded a 1st round pick by most teams.

Guys please...........If Fairley is there at 10 we have to take him. It fills our biggest need.

But where would he play in our 34 front?

DE.

On a side not, I find it odd that the only projected possible 10 pick we have talked to is Tyron Smith, and he really isn't supposed to go until the mid-late 1st (maybe we are hoping he slips into the early 2nd for a trade up?)

As much as I also agree that Fairley only had one successful year... it was a damn good one. Did you watch the Title game? Did you watch him dominate LSU and Alabama? Because I sure did and he was as big of a reason as Cam Newton was for those victories.

Just because a player has some red flags, doesn't mean he can't be a pro bowler for several years. There's gonna be risks no matter what, and if Nick Fairley is available at #10 and we don't take him... Then "the best player available theory" would mean absolutely nothing.

Even though I think when the Redskins drafted Trent Williams, it was clear that management doesn't follow that theory. Luckily for the Redskins, he turned out.. because that had bust written all over it.

Ok, ok. I'm sold on Fairley. In hindsight, which prospects were rated higher than Trent Williams and why was "bust" written all over him? He was a great talent and at a premium skill position.

I love Trent, don't get me wrong.... But Russell Okung will be the best Tackle from that draft, he was last year and will continue to trend upwards each and every year. Not only did he show this as a rookie in the NFL.. but he showed it in college allowing only one sack in his draft year at OSU.

This athletic stuff is blown out of proportion, Jammal Brown was never athletic. The fourth pick last year should have been Okung, but Trent will suffice.

Why is it believed that Okung had a better rookie season than Williams?

I don't see how thats true at all? Okung started 10 games compared to TW's 14. Just because Seattle made the playoffs doesn't mean Okung had a better year if thats what he means.
