Dirtbag59 05-19-2011, 07:03 PM Great response...but maybe he has a bit of a short-term memory
Redskins Insider - DeAngelo Hall says he'll track opponent's top wideout (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/deangelo-hall/deangelo-hall.html)
Double talk. Like I needed another reason to hate Cornerbakcs :D Safties FTW!
SmootSmack 05-19-2011, 08:42 PM Rogers is probably not this loud if Hall isn't getting paid like a top 5 corner. If we can all agree that both corners have serious flaws and are comparable (in terms of impact from the CB position), then it's logical as to why Rogers feels disrespected.
The problem for Rogers is that contracts are now offered by a different entity, but yet his perception will always be "Skins vs. me."
I can see that...but there's also the matter of Rogers wanting this contract at 30 years old and Hall getting his at 25 (or thereabouts).
Totally baseless prediction. He signs with the Browns
skinsfaninok 05-19-2011, 09:00 PM Meanwhile, Hall’s former Virginia Tech teammate, longtime friend and business associate Brenden Hill also weighed in, like this:
Whats up w/ this guy Carlos Rogers man...haha seriously Nobody called you the #2 corner you just played like it!....One of the biggest differences between winning and losing is turnovers. They don’t pay you to knock the ball down! Less Talk more Plays!...And at the end of the day it’s about the team. Dude is worried about who is #1! Just win games and you’ll all be #1 Corners!
THIS...
Dirtbag59 05-19-2011, 09:57 PM Rogers is like the Donovann McNabb of Cornerbacks. Very talented and has had a lot of success at this level. However all to often he puts the ball on the ground.

Good point re: age.
If the Browns sign him, they'd have gone about building a nice secondary without being flashy. You know I like me some Eric Wright (the deceased NWA one, too).
Ruhskins 05-20-2011, 01:45 AM Well, it basically was ONE player, who the week prior, is basically telling the coaches that you ****ed up by not putting me on the top WR, and pretty much throwing his teammates (reed/buchanon) under the bus. I expect that guy to come out and back up the talk that he's top notch, not get his ass roasted by sub-par Ram receivers and a rookie QB. For the record, I don't blame him solely for that loss because everybody was pretty much shitty in that game.
Well the coaches did f*ck up and so did Buchanon (I don't blame Reed, b/c he should've never been in that position). Hall didn't need to say that crap, but still one of the best WRs in the league was left one-on-one with our back up safety.
Hall is just another guy we need to move on from. He's part of the old Vinny regime that needs to go. Flashy FA guys that can't back up what they are being paid or what they are saying. I understand we can't at this time, but his time is coming.
We really don't and Hall hasn't said anything since to say otherwise. Hall is not an elite corner, but he's right now the only starting-caliber corner we have on contract. Also, a lot of players say a lot of crap and people just need to accept that and move on. Plus if Hall was as bad as you make him out to be, I'm sure he'd be in Shanahan's dog house (see Haynesworth)
I hope SirClintonPortis is right about our additions to the DL helping out D. Hall's game. I'm just glad Rogers is heading out the door. I think him quitting on the team to save himself (after he was cleared) for a contract totally turned me off on this guy. I just get a bit annoyed with so many people roasting the guy for dropping INTs and patting D. Hall. At least be consistent.
Well that happens because Rogers opened his mouth period and because your average fan only sees the flashy things...sacks, fumbles, INTs, TDs, etc., etc., etc.
freddyg12 05-20-2011, 08:22 AM Comparing Hall & Rogers; both could be much better. Rogers has always had issues w/the coaching staff that have affected his play, recall Blache benching him in 08 for biting on double moves. On the positive side, didn't see that last year, he played really well & dropped his usual amount of int.s.
Hall, ever since his days at Va. Tech, is a guy loaded w/talent that has never really put it all together. I think he could be among the best in the nfl. When he's motivated he can stay w/some of the best wr's.
Comcast did a segment w/D Hall on his pre-game "ritual" which is no ritual at all. He said he dosen't have a routine to warm up, it all depends on how he feels. That said to me that he's always had bad habits & doesn't take a professional approach to preparation. He plays like that too, some games he just seems to be sitting back waiting for an errant pass to come his way rather than reading & reacting to the play.
NC_Skins 05-20-2011, 08:54 AM Well the coaches did f*ck up and so did Buchanon (I don't blame Reed, b/c he should've never been in that position). Hall didn't need to say that crap, but still one of the best WRs in the league was left one-on-one with our back up safety.
That's still not fair. I don't give a shit if it were Ed Reed (D. Hall, Revis, etc) back there, Andre Johnson was going to catch that ball. It's why he's the best in the NFL. Now, we can make the point that he should have been double covered.
Plus if Hall was as bad as you make him out to be, I'm sure he'd be in Shanahan's dog house (see Haynesworth)
I don't think D. Hall is that "sort" of bad. Haynesworth is defiant, refuses to cooperate with coaches or do what he's asked. He comes into camp out of shape, doesn't give a shit. That's what lands you in Shanny's doghouse. I think D. Hall does goes hard on every play, and that's not something I question in his play. The guy has the tools, the drive, just not the discipline needed for the position. If he had the discipline, I think the guy could be the best CB in the league hands down. Hopefully his style of play will be much better this year with our revamped defensive front.
Well that happens because Rogers opened his mouth period and because your average fan only sees the flashy things...sacks, fumbles, INTs, TDs, etc., etc., etc.
It's going to be nice watching a game now when it's close and our CB jumps up to grab the ball, you know now we have a chance in picking it off...lol
#56fanatic 05-20-2011, 08:54 AM Kinda of on the fence. Carlos is not the game changer, as Hall displayed last year in a few games. He wants to be paid like it, and quite honestly I am not sure I'd give him huge money at this point. Asumgwua(however the hell you spell it) is probably more of an option at this point vs. resigning Carlos. I am sure that if Carlos leaves, he will sign with either Dallas or Philly. Both are looking at corners in FA as well. I also believe Carlos is a problem with his attitude. Those anonymous players comments, i believe came from him. He just seems more about himself than the team, obviously by his "#1 corner comments" I dont even know if the #1, #2 corner designation applies in the NFL anymore, or not nearly as much as it use to. With the NFL a passing league, teams have multiple recievers sets and you have to have 2 very good cover corners to be effective. I am surprised Hall just didn't say "Carlos, you want to be #1, ok your the #1 corner. This is MY defense though!"
Dirtbag59 05-21-2011, 04:35 AM Los calls himself the 2nd best corner on the market, so does that mean at present time that he's better then Bailey, Cromartie, Joesph, Grimes, Barber, and Ike Taylor? I'm not sure if he's a clear cut above though he may rank higher then a decent amount of the guys I just listed.
