I would wait on Landry. I wouldnt extend Cooley, in fact I may look to transition Fred Davis into the spot this year depending on play and extend Davis before the season starts. I would wait on Carriker like Landry until after this season. I would ask Fletch what he wants and then look to make that happen.

Cooley and Landry and keepers. Fred Davis just isn't mature enough to be a top NFL player, even though I think he's got more ability than Cooley. Other than that everyone else is gone...Fletch, Carriker, Horton and so on.

I don't know about the whole Davis not being mature thing, he's worked hard this past year or so by reports, worked directly with previous TE coach to improve blocking, etc

If you wanna say it's because he goes clubbing you have to throw quite a few of our other players in the same category

I'd resign and or trade both Cooley and Davis and keep Logan Paulson. I'd let Moss go. Keep Rhabach at Center. I'd cut Torain and Williams and use the new draft pick. ;o

I'm just curious to know what makes you think this?

I think Landry is a keeper. Carriker has played well and I would want to keep him. Fletch could be kept with a reasonable contract. And Cooley has three years...so I would wait another year to decide on him. I think Horton could be a nice backup SS, but I doubt he'd cost a lot of money.

This.

For those down on Landry, yes he has been inconsistent. But he showed signs of maturing last year. And SS's who are better than him do not grow on trees.

well we've all heard the reports that we heard when he was coming out of college. late for meetings, doesn't do enough in the classroom. maybe i'm wrong but he didn't push cooley last year for more playing time.

I would NOT extend Laundry until after the end of next year. No way, no how. He's been way to inconsistent up until last year, and even then he got hurt. How about we wait till a player has more than 1 excellent year before we start throwing cash at them.

Cooley is at the back part of his career. I'd trade him and resign Davis.

What would you get for him? Pass catching TE isn't exactly a hard position to fill. Davis would probably get more on the open market than Cooley simply cause he's younger and perhaps has more upside.

Well that was three years ago. I agree that he didn't push Cooley...but I don't see this as a bad thing. I think this is a key year for him, b/c it may determine that the team will keep him and trade Cooley in the future.

LOL. I just think its funny seeing people either wanting to trade Cooley or Davis. For the life of me I can't figure out why we can't keep both? Cooley is a HOFer and there is no reason to let him go, and Davis has (to me) equal talent so there is no reason to get rid of him either. Give them shift work..... every 2 or 3 plays change out, or better yet give each 2 quarters and mix them up.... whoever appears to be having the better day let the finish the 4th quarter.

I'd prefer to keep Cooley & Davis too. Seems that all we hear every offseason now is this silly trade Cooley talk. He's only 29 and still very productive, no reason why he can't keep playing at a high level for another 4-5 seasons. Keep them both, and find a way to get Davis more involved.
