Isn't it funny though? I mean the Shanahan's are actually going about the QB situation the right way. Rather then break the bank with a new player or a sexy name they have two guys, (both highly regarded prospects at one time or another) who have sat and learned the system for at least one year.

Yet people are acting like this isn't John Skelton vs Max Hall in 2010. Don't get me wrong I'm as nervous as the QB situation as anyone else but the way they've gone about selecting and coaching their players up, at least on paper, is the right way to do it.

Not to mention the fact that the cap wasn't put at risk with the contracts of Beck and Grossman, nor did the Skins give up draft picks to acquire the players.
+1 ( or however many points I can add)

This isn't Skelton vs. Hall, not in my mind at least

Yeah, Skins fans may see his off-cuff comment in context and not that serious. But I just saw my SportsCenter facebook status update with Rexy's proclamation with over 3400 comments laughing at it.

It doesn't matter what the media does with it... the rest of the NFC East is going to remember the quote, regardless of context. Hasn't Twitter taught us anything? Point being, choose your words wisely if they'll be heard/read. The wind tends to deviate meaning.

Yes, I'm sure the Giants, Eagles and Cowboys are all riled up because of the comments of Rex Grossman.

I very much doubt anyone cares. They all regard us as the doormats anyway, so it seems unlikely to me their using Rex's comments as bulletin board material. It's not as though he said "we're going to kick their asses!". He said he felt like they could win the NFC East. Ask all three starting quarterbacks in the division and they'll say the same thing.

It really isn't that big a deal.

Tomorrow nobody will care. People will be eating up the next story of the minute.

Whoever gets upset at this or ridicules it is a F'ING moron (and should really watch the interview). This wasn't Namath guaranteeing a SB win or like any of the other predictions we've seen athletes make in the past. This is just a QB trying to say the right things, while being positive about a young team with a long way to go. Hell, everyone was giving the Cowpukes the Super Bowl last year before they stunk it up during the season. Once again, this is hyped by a media that is accustomed to report the all sorts of crazy stories that this team has had in the past offseasons.

I must have missed something. What did Rex say?
