That's the rumor
On a related note, I feel like people didn't really read Matty's hypothetical
the question "if you trade, what you would give up?" vs "if he hit the market"...yeah vastly different hypotheticals.
If he hit the market I think every team would take a look, is Peyton gonna want to go to the Skins? Peyton is going to a team in contention for a superbowl run, not the Skins
If you make a trade, its gonna be for a 1st round pick. You would give a first round pick for Manning? Vinny-like move imo.

Manning won't want to come to DC and I don't blame him.. We are a mess of an organization. I'm sticking to it and saying the colts won't trade him. I'd bet they are more willing to trade the 1st pick instead, sounds crazy but just wait an see

Colts can’t pay and trade Peyton | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/07/colts-cant-pay-and-trade-peyton/)
This article makes it seem like Peyton will either be released before his bonus is due or the Colts will keep him. The cap hit would be to high for the Colts to pay the bonus and then trade him. Peyton would have to rework the contract for the Colts to trade him. if Peyton is healthy and a free agent then the bidding would be insane.

If Matty asked would you trade a 1st round pick in 2012 that'd be one thing...but that's not what he asked

I still laugh at all of these Skins fans I see fooling themselves into thinking the Colts are going to trade the #1 pick so they can make one last run with Peyton....lol All the more reason why they are going to be heart broken come draft day when the Colts, in fact, do select Andrew Luck. I don't even get why they set themselves up for failure like that. Probably the same cats that believe we are going 14-2 year in and year out.
Also, Bill Polian doesn't give a rats ass what Archie Manning thinks. I will give props to Peyton for saying that the GM discussing the draft with him or their intentions would be inappropriate. He's right, they shouldn't be asking his opinion or anything of the sort.

It would be interesting if the Colt have to cut Manning. The bidding war for him would be ridiculous. I do think the Colts should rebuild with Luck. They've had a good run with Manning, but they have the opportunity to have another 10 year run with a QB that is as good as Manning.
And I agree with NC_Skins, the Colts are not trading that #1 pick.

Total hypothetical:
If you could trade for P. Manning and were guaranteed 3 high quality, typical P. Manning type of seasons... Would you make that deal and what would you give up?
1 1st rounder+1 5th rounder or lower.

I'm still pissed that a team that has been perpetually good for the last ten years gets to fall ass backwards into the best QB prospect since their current QB... So ****ing annoying as a fan of a team that has had inconsistency at the most important position in (perhaps) all sports for the past 20 years.
