I like Founding Brothers by Joseph Ellis and John Adams by David McCullough a lot. But are you looking for something about the war itself, like a military book?
Not really other than summary of events and keystone battles...not detailed battle accounts
More importantly events leading up to and after..

I just started reading Doctor Sleep, Stephen King's sequel to The Shining, and I have to admit that the first couple of chapters really freaked me. I'm not sure how much I'll like the book, but that was a pretty good start.

has anybody read the divergent series?
my lady is starting the 3rd book and im tempted to start reading the 1st one - divergent.
im currently reading 2 other books but i havent read a kinda sci-fi-ish book in a long time (since the harry potter series). i think i would like to read a book not based on the real world parameters.
