Some great prospects will be at the game. Brian Quick WR App St.

Bobby Wagner ILB Utah (Compared to London Fletcher)

The Iowa State CB, said to be a great overall corner.

All the Big Ten and SEC Lineman are also intriguing to me at Guard, Tackle, and Center (also the FSU guy and the UAB guy has a lot of potential it sounds like)

My source told me they are prepared to give up whatever is necessary to get RG3, and are prepared to give up two firsts and (don't quote me on this part) a third (or he said second and third; I don't remember).

He also said Shanahan is looking at it like this, whats the point of saving all these future picks, if his future here is donzo for next year, should he fail with a less quality player (Tannehill for example), than with a high energy-high quality player like RG3 who could bring your team to a winning record. Shanny also knows that snyder likes the big name. If us fans are going ''ahh tannehill'' snyder will here and agree and put Shanahan on a tighter lesh. If its RG3 the fans will like it based on potential, and snyder will like it because its a big name that will put fans in the seats, and it will certainly buy shanahan longer time here in DC. The High quality/potential guy will buy him time, the low quality guy won't.

As for other tid-bits he told me.

I asked him about Matt Flynn, he said he hasn't heard much about him.

Asked about Andrew Luck, he said we all like him, but we all know he's Indy bound.

I asked if we can trade or cut Dhall, he gave me a tight-lipped politically correct answer.

This year's 1st and 2nd and next year's 1st and 3rd? I'd be OK with that as long as they can land a true #1 in free agency and some O-line help. The RBs and TEs are plenty talented.... at least enough to make the Offense productive with good QB play.

They'd still have 6 picks this year and I believe 7 next year. They've shown they can find some solid players in the mid to late rounds. They could still bring Rex back and draft another QB late or bring in an undrafted guy.

But couldn't Cleveland trump our offer with 2 first round picks THIS year? We'd need them to make a run at Flynn.

With the price that high I actually see both us and Cleveland as less of a threat to trade up for RG3 and see Miami and Seattle suddenly as major players. Anyway at Smoots reported Rams price I'd rather sign Flynn. My price was a 1st and 2nd this year and a conditional 3rd that could turn into a 2nd next year.

I can understand where Shanny is comming from, if he doesn't make the right move for the right guy it will be his last year in Washington the stakes are very high.

2012 1st rounder
2012 3rd rounder
2013 1st rounder
2013 3rd rounder

for RGIII??? I'd do it.

How about Kirk Cousins in burgundy and gold? i feel like he's that under the radar guy that the skins can pick up

i dont think so. i personally see him as nothing more than a backup/game manager.

For a little perspective from SI. Here is the deal for Eli Manning: A 1st and 3rd in the draft year and 1st and 4th the following year. Seems like alot but they are reaping the benefits of having a very good qb. They picked 4th that year. Of course, I guess they could have stayed at 4 and picked up Rivers/Rothlesberger. I guess if you like a QB, you gotta go get him.

Accorsi offered the Giants' first- and third-round picks in '04, and an '05 first-rounder. "We still want Osi,'' Smith told him.

Tick, tick, tick ...

Two minutes left.

Accorsi's last, best offer.

"No Osi,'' he said. "That's still a deal-breaker. But we'll throw in a six next year.''

Pause on the line from San Diego.

Tick, tick, tick ...

"Make it a four,'' Smith said.

"I'll give you a five,'' Accorsi said.

Mike: Right now it’s easy to be more intrigued by Griffin than anyone else. My preference: getting the best QB you can find is the option. If that means trading up for Griffin, then do it. Shanahan is not one to settle for a guy if he thinks he can land an elite player. There’s no guarantee with any player, but having to trade a couple picks for a guy I think can really play would not be a deterrent. To trade up high in the first round means you’re convinced the player will be elite. If you’re not convinced, don’t do it. There’s nothing the Redskins have needed more for a long time than a franchise QB. If that’s Griffin, get him and don’t hesitate.
