I think everyone likes the idea of getting a first round talent (and at a position of need) in the 6th or 7th round.

He's projected to go early 2nd (possibly the last pick of the first round to the NY Giants). We aren't going to get him.

And for those that like Donald Stephenson, he isn't going as high as the 3rd round.

I think that most of the mock drafts in this thread are very similar - and good - in terms of addressing the Redskins' needs. To me, there are only two issues in terms of needs versus availability.

First, it seems to me to be very likely that, if the Skins intend to acquire a RT in the draft, they will need to draft one in the 3rd Round or, if there is no run on OT's, the 4th Round at the very latest. The fact that we're looking for someone to fit in a zone blocking scheme should help us a little in terms of availability. So, right now, I'm expecting the 3rd Round pick to be an OT.

The Skins clearly want a RB in this draft. They want a RB who is a good receiver and who can make people miss. To get one of the players they would want for this role, they are probably going to have to use one of their 4th Round picks for this purpose.

Staring with their other 4th Round pick, I think that the Skins could go with the BPA, perhaps leaning toward OL, CB, and S.

So if we go Turbin, do you think Helu starts with Turbin spelling him or vice-versa?

Good question, it would be a good battle in camp. Helu might have the early leg up over a rookie though.

I might be the only one here who doesn't want Vontaze Burfict. He reminds me of Maurice Clarett in a way, in the sense that he created his own downfall, and whoever ends up wasting a draft pick on him (maybe a team like NE) will get praise heaped upon them, at least until he ends up being a bust.

I remember when Shanny drafted Clarett even though analysts didn't approve of the 3rd rounder he used, everybody generally agreed it was a good move because Shanny gets the best out of his running backs. One year out of the league later and Clarett was getting arrested for pulling an OJ, getting into a high speed chase while he was drinking and had automatic rifles in his car. I feel like we'll see a similar end to Burfict's career, maybe not the end Clarett had but I get the feeling once Burfict doesn't do anything he'll just become another malcontent who blames everything on his coaches.

Hightower starts, Royster backs him up (possibly ultimately starting)

Helu is the change of pace playmaker/RB to be Named backs up Helu

I'd want no part of him. Way too many red flags.
