Dating back to the Hall of Fame's inception, fewer than 10 centers have been inducted.

Although he played with Sonny (and presumably Larry Brown), center is a tough one. Go back and find me a center in the Hall without at least one Super Bowl ring, maybe two.
Just look at the class of 2012 for a certain Steeler who wore number 63.

And yes, Len was there for all of Larry Brown's career too.

I agree in general Center is tough for the Hall because what stats can you use?

Exactly. Unlike tackle even, you can still quantify how many times the QB didn't get sacked. I suppose they usually measure the centers effectiveness based three criteria: Running backs and QB stats and longevity.

I think with Haley is it more a matter of when than if.

Do any of you remember FS Jake Scott ? I always thought he was one of the best to ever play the position.

Jake Scott was #13. He played a few years as a Miami Dolphin before he was a Redskin. Scott played against the Redskins in Super Bowl VII.

I think he was the MVP of that game , too bad Sonny got hurt that year .

When Jake Scott came to the Redskins he showed Billy Kilmer his car and thanked Billy. Said the pay raise the Dolphins gave him after the game paid for the car.

Least that is the way Kilmer told it.

Even though he donned the B&G, I never forgave Jake Scott for Super Bowl VII. Nor did I forgive the goalposts (on the goal line at that time) for blocking a potential touchdown pass.

We played the greatest team of all time relatively tough. If only we could have gotten Larry Brown going...
