I am completely shocked by the pick. knowing the other glaring needs. I understand having to "make" the pick because he was there, but honestly you invest all the picks to move up to get RGIII, now seems like you are sending a message that just in case RGIII struggles. which in my mind may cause a little undue pressure or stress on RGIII. I know backups are very important, but i just dont get the pick.

Not sure I'd say Cousins "dropped". He was projected to go somewhere between rounds 2-4.
He's got decent mobility, keep in mind sacks count against rushing yards in college.
Cousins would not have made it to our second pick in round 4.
I don't see what the fuss is about really. Yeah I get the argument that a potential starter at other positions could have been taken with that pick. If that's your beef, ok.
But a 4th rounder is no real threat to a guy like RG3 who we just gave up a fortune to get.
I think their roles are pretty clear.

There are alot of people who said we can't find a Franchise QB in the 4th rd, but yet some of those same people are saying RG3 are 1st rd QB needs to be worried about Cousins our 4th rd picked QB. Please make up your minds can you find a Starting QB in the 4th rd or not. MS has made it clear to both QB's.

Thank you NYC and Matty. This talk of Cousins' starting has got to stop. We drafted a clear starter and a backup - period.

Plus the value of a good back up is immense! Instead of trying to shift thur other teams trash to find a quality back up why not draft someone you love and develop them.

For once you think the media and fans would be happy with a "plan b." The team has been so heavily criticized (myself included) on having to go into the draft having to find heavy impact players with every draft pick because they were so limited in the past. You clearly see with the Cousin, Keenan Robinson and Straight Outta Compton pick, these are plan B, talented reserves who provide a potential plan B down the line. Isnt it nice to have that luxury? Now we are building talented depth, people are gonna criticize? Anyone at ESPN and sports talk radio can go to hell if they are serious about a quarterback controversy comment.

Wasn't Tom Brady what a 6 or 7th round pick and my point is you(teams in general) just don't know.

We see it all the time in the NFL where I guy that's drafted late ends up beating out a higher round pick. Let's not sit here and say that it can't happen. I hope it doesn't but it can happen.
So what if Cousins outplays RG3 in camp? Are you saying this isn't a possibility?

No, I don't think there's much of a possibility of Cousins outplaying RG3, since he's simply not going to see a ton of snaps. Plus it's likely that Grossman remains the #2 and Cousins is the #3.
