Bryan Lewis Saunders - DRUGS (http://bryanlewissaunders.org/drugs/)
For his Drugs series, artist Bryan Lewis Saunders allegedly took a different mind-altering intoxicant daily and on each occasion drew a self-portrait. He has since dialed down the intensity of the experiment after suffering mild brain damage and being hospitalized, but it remains a noble endeavor and one which reveals a startling journey. The substances imbibed include Xanax, crystal meth, cough syrup, Klonopin, the jailhouse drink pruno, PCP, and, results seen below, mushrooms, morphine, and bath salts.
The bolded part of your quote just about sums it up.
mlmpetert 08-06-2012, 11:39 AM oh btw, possible HIV cure. google the berlin patient.
I was reading a couple months ago about how he got the hiv again.
His life has become part lab rat part spokes figure for aids. A simple blood test isnt the most precise way to test for aids, so they do things like spinal taps, intestinal sampling, and other nasty sounding biopsies of tissue and fluids to see if aids still exist in any parts of his body. Not to long ago one of these more invasive test, tested positive for aids.
Furthermore his most recent positive test was for a different, yet still common and well known, strand of aids. So theyre all thinking 2 things. There was contamination somewhere in the test. Or he got himself re-infected. For science sake i hope its the latter. While we may all be kind of offended that this guy got aids twice, i think more could be learned from it. This guy could teach us a lot by being irresponsible.
Regardless the real cure for things like viruses and cancers are vaccines. Preventing something is a lot easier than fixing it.
RedskinRat 08-06-2012, 04:25 PM NASA’s Curiosity rover (http://www.slashgear.com/curiosity-rover-tags-mars-with-morse-tire-tracks-06241847/) may not look like an urban menace, but the robot explorer will in fact be steadily tagging the Martian surface as it trundles, leaving a name-check of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory back home. The clandestine graffiti is thanks to part of the rover’s visual odometry system, John Graham-Cumming points out, which tracks the marks left by a series of asymmetrically arranged holes in the wheels. The position of those holes, however, isn’t random: in fact, it’s Morse Code.

I like the mushrooms and huffing gas portraits the best. G13 first runner up after those.

NYT has a good link below.

If this rover lasts half as long as Spirit... it could find a lot of evidence about past life on Mars.

That is without a doubt some serious weak shit. For as long as people have wanted to believe in the Loch Ness Monster, if they are ever going to prove its' existence they are going to have to come forward with an amazing unedited video or picture if we are going to believe it.
