Maybe the NFL should dictate his attire off the field as well. Hell, just go ahead and tell him how he needs to vote, what religion he needs to abide by, and what sexuality he needs to choose. Some of you fans are just LOL. Now, come game day he's wearing a Pittsburgh attire, then get back with me and I'll side with you.
/facepalm
It's interesting how corporate america has brainwashed people into "being loyal" to your company! Make no mistake about it, the Redskins are a business first and foremost. Also, the hypocrisy in it all is even more of a laugh.
Here is the mindset from many fans:
1) all players should be loyal to their team and should take pay cuts to stay with said team
2) all fans should be loyal to their team and continue to cheer for them regardless of how incompetent the owner/front office is
On the opposite spectrum:
1) Teams can cut players and trade them and this is fine. Loyalty to that players isn't required.
2) Teams can gouge fans to see the product or even simply lock out the season.
Newsflash: They have no loyalty to the players or the fans so none is needed back.
If I walked around with another insurance companies shirt or hat on people that know where I work would think I'm crazy. Your point makes no sense.

Just because you play for a team doesn't mean you rep them 24/7. What's next? Can't buy a blue vehicle cause it's Cowboys and Giants colors? Green is Eagles?
He's a player, not a fan. As long as he's doing everything in his power to help us win on Sundays, he could be wearing Cowboys gear for all I care.

It doesn't matter to me if he wears a Steelers hat. Doesn't matter at all
I guess it's just me but I wouldn't want RG3 wearing a cowboys hat with a blue shirt.. hell I've never even worn another teams gear and I'm just a fan

sorry, but I would think that a microsoft executive that was on the brink of having a job or losing a job wouldn't come to work sporting an Apple Tshirt hat, and Ipad. You have to know that maybe its just clothes, but alot of people use clothing and accessories to make a statement, and some people could get turned off by that fact. Its his own career he is playing with, lets just hope for his sake once he gets the axe come training camp cause he cannot do anything other than return a kick every once in a while (even in the bottom half of the league in average at that.....jeesh) that his black and gold come to the rescue and sign him to their roster. I'm thinking not though.........

Y'all are acting like he walked into Redskins Park wearing this cap. He took a picture at a bar wearing a Steelers hat. Some of you take this stuff WAY too seriously.
BTW, here is what Banks had to say about it on Twitter:
“@speedybanks16: Yall mad I had a different team HAT on? first off I wear what I want...its about the colors to me.. Its REDSKINS NATION OVER HERE THO!!!!!”. “@speedybanks16: To be honest I got all 32 teams!!! But never touch the cowboys one 😜”

The difference is. You are trying to sell a product, he is NOT. His job is to play football, not market the Redskins(unless it's called for on team promotional appearances).

Mainly kidding. But for example I tease a steeler friend once in awhile about his beautiful burgundy car. :)

pretty much, or you could paint it, my harley was blue and silver, painted that bitch black about 2 months after i bought it.
seriously though to each his own. this crap is blown so far out of proportion these days due to twitter and other social media outlets. is banks the first guy to wear another teams gear, no, will he be the last, no. in a perfect world i would love every redskin, nat, cap, and wizard to rock all dc gear but that would never happen. as long as they aren't wearing it to the facilities or to and from games i could really care less. when they are representing the team they should only be in team gear, but in their off time, especially the frggin off season, come on man(insert annoying berman voice)!!
