But at some point, he's just a blank spot. If he is on this year, it's a high probability he won't contribute one bit, and if he does, history shows he gives us about a 50% win rate. Cousins won't contribute at all if he stays, but he's got to be on the roster, not going to PS because another team will pick him up, so why have two deadspots at backup qb. Doesn't seem worth it, especially considering the battles going on at other spots. If we keep all 4 RBs and 2 FBs, it's pretty much a guarantee all 6 will contribute during the season. I know Rex is a comfort zone keep, but I think Cousins showed enough that Rex' spot ought to be at least within the discussion of the cuts.

I am no great Wrecks fan, as you know. But what if Gryphon (heaven forbid) is lost for the season in game 6? Do we really want Cousins starting 10 games? I don't. I'd prefer the 50% win rate of Wrecks in this scenario. Gotta keep Wrecks...for now.

There has to be a way the Skins can take advantage of the new IR activation rule. Who might be a candidate? Hightower?

I know it could have a doomsday case like this, but what is Green Bay doing? What if ARodgers gets hurts who fills in?

Drew Brees has Chase but is he going to do it for you?
Heck Eli has who?

If your second guy comes in for 10 games, we aren't doing much any way.
Look at Houston - Shaub's place was taken by what's his name.

If they keep Rex I understand, but we could look at an extra OL, RB, DB who might actually play even if no major injury occurs, and at spots where major injury may be more likely. Griffin may be injury prone, but so far, he has looked like he understands that part of his job is protecting himself. (he is the oline after all!)

Edit: Thanks Google internet search - PFT did an analysis of backup qbs (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1299505-nfl-power-rankings-backup-quarterback-edition) 2 weeks ago, and like I said I just don't see backup qb as the worst need on ours.

You mean Helu? Hightower is back. He looked good in the Colts game.

I'd put Brown on it. If he's not going to come back to Week 6 minimum, stash him on IR until Week 8 to give him 2 extra weeks to get back to healthy for the playoff run.

Playoffs? Yes, I said playoffs.

Helu couldn't run a week ago, looked really bad, so maybe him. He's definitely in worse shape than Hightower.

Hightower was still too sore after the Colts game to see even a small amount of action last night. Obviously stashing anyone besides Brown would involve some gamesmanship.

I don't believe Brown would be eligible. Besides, the difference between time missed for reserve PUP and IR is negligible

Did you see Helu last night?

Hightower is still less than a year post knee surgery, I think we need to temper any expectations of him at least early on in the season.

Lol at Helu being in worse shape than Hightower.

Not only is Hightower coming off an ACL tear, he was outperformed by Helu and Royster last year. He's the weakest link.

Helu was a beast last nite- granted i was surprised to see him out there but im thinking you didnt see the game. Also Hightower had really one good run against the Colts. I actually had two good runs against the colts and my grandmother actually had two carries for 11 yards against the colts.
They need to keep all of these guys on the roster.
