Old kickers don't typicaly beat the yips. Younger kickers do. Bring Gano back. I can deal with inconsistency in a player that will eventually pull through -- I can't with a veteran.
Should Billy Cundiff still be cut!Daseal 10-02-2012, 09:24 AM Old kickers don't typicaly beat the yips. Younger kickers do. Bring Gano back. Ruhskins 10-02-2012, 09:53 AM I'd rather the team focuses on how to actually score TDs instead of FGs and improve that 3rd down conversion rate. Because those things are going to lose us games more than Cundiff. That being said, I am sure the Redskins will do their due diligence and bring in some kicker competition this week. I'm a bit bummed that some teams out there have picked up rookie FA who are doing well and with our kicking woes the only competition was between Rackers and Gano. NC_Skins 10-02-2012, 10:39 AM If there's someone out there on the street that could do a better job, he would probably be here already. Put kicker on the list for next offseason. If he had missed that last kick, chances are he would have been gone. He bought himself another week. Pretty much this. I still didn't think Cundiff was a upgrade over Gano. SmootSmack 10-02-2012, 10:43 AM They aren't bringing in any kickers this week, and I don't think they should. For one thing, going into Sunday Cundiff had only missed one kick (a 62 yarder he never should have taken). But more importantly, they can't just quit on him after one poor game after making so adamant a commitment to him just a month ago. Alvin Walton 10-02-2012, 10:56 AM Keep Cundiff. Score more touchdowns. Make more interceptions. Sack more QBs. Stuff more RBs. Play better defense. jdlea 10-02-2012, 10:57 AM Should this thread title have a question mark at the end of it! Seems like a recipe for ass kicking, let me check with Rex Ryan. MTK 10-02-2012, 11:25 AM They aren't bringing in any kickers this week, and I don't think they should. Good point, 2 of his misses this year were out of his range and nothing more than prayer shots. Missing the 31 yarder though, that hurts. Can't have those types of misses. htownskinfan 10-02-2012, 11:29 AM They aren't bringing in any kickers this week, and I don't think they should. I agree with you, they shouldnt cut him after ONE bad game but it wouldnt bother me if they did,I still think we should have kept Rackers.I was surprised the Texans let him go,I dont think it was performance based, must have been a contract issue CultBrennan59 10-02-2012, 11:39 AM Cundiff hopefully just had one bad game. However if he misses more than 1 kick next game. His ass is grass, kick him out of here! |
