JoeRedskin 10-15-2012, 08:41 AM At least he was true to his word that even with a large win he would be mad at the defense.
I look forward to his inciteful and constructive critiques in future posts.
JoeRedskin 10-15-2012, 08:51 AM I thought we were going to be blown out after that first quarter. Holding them to nine points was pretty damn good after they moved down the field with ease.
Two turnovers led to 14 points. The final one sealed the victory and gave us our first "Victory Formation" since I can't remember when.
The longest pass play was 20 yards. We gave up about five in the 15-19 yard range. BUT - for the first time, no plays more than 40 yards in the entire game.
In the 2nd half, they gave up three long time consuming drives which yielded 14 points.
It's not the Steel Curtain, but it was enough to win and had some very good things to counter the very bad things.
JoeRedskin 10-15-2012, 08:53 AM This may be nothing but did anyone else notice Kirk Cousins negative body language during the game? I mean, he was expressionless and motionless as RG3 ran past him on the game-clinching 76-Yd TD run. Cousins didn't even turn his head to watch RG3 score. I'm wondering if Cousins might be developing an attitude problem.
I saw Cousins walk over and congratulate him. By all accounts, Cousins is a stand up guy. I think you're reading wayyyy too much into it.
Chico23231 10-15-2012, 08:57 AM Monster games yesterday: RG3, Lorenzo Alexander, Silverback, Perry Riley, Fletcher, and Stephen Bowen.
Bowen and Riley have quietly had great seasons.
GTripp0012 10-15-2012, 08:59 AM This was a well played game against a good team at home. This is what teams that are on the right track are supposed to look like. The Vikings are going to win eight plus games this season. In this one, Ponder was just a little bit off all day with his accuracy. Matt Ryan had the same issue last week as well.
Biggest difference was that we didn't leave Ponder in the game for four quarters like we did with Ryan last week. Both showed some late game ability to put it all together, but yesterday, it didn't matter.
The defense is playing adequately, given it's talent level. You can't start a bunch of guys like Rob Jackson, Madieu Williams, Reed Doughty, and Jarvis Jenkins and expect to have great results, but these results are more than acceptable as long as there are no stinker performances like the 2010 Eagles game. We can live with what the D is giving us right now. The special teams and the offense has to come to play like they did yesterday, but every week. They can't collapse and go back to how they were against TB and ATL.
GTripp0012 10-15-2012, 09:03 AM Oh and the Redskins have a positive pt differential after 6 games, which hasn't been the case since 2008.

Yup. I agree. This D is never going to be "Great!". At the same time, as long as the offense keeps scoring, it will be adequate.
CRedskinsRule 10-15-2012, 09:24 AM It's a pretty awesome feeling knowing that you have a qb can close out games, and also bring a team down the field in the last minutes to win them.
Next week's game against the Giants may be epic.
Monkeydad 10-15-2012, 09:31 AM I missed the entire first quarter, the local station showed the Eagles OT loss until it was over. I started watching at the beginning of the 2nd quarter with us down 9-0.
That was an amazing 3 quarters of football! :D
I'm feeling confident about the Giants game. Who cares that they just destroyed Alex Smith's team...we embarrassed them TWICE last year with Rex. We're infinitely better this season. We can do this.

I think he's just not a big rah-rah jump around type of guy. I wouldn't read into it. He's a quality guy.
