I haven't seen anything other than Luck's highlights, but from the limited amount I've seen of him I can say I think he looks natural and comfortable in the pocket, and is also surprisingly calm for a rookie qb. He's made his share of rookie turnovers but it doesn't seem to faze him at all, and big deficits don't faze him either.

RG3's stats blow Luck's out of the water when you compare them side by side, no contest really.

Luck has too many turnovers.

I hear everyone saying this but to be fair, Luck has around 600 throws and they play in a pass first offense. Ours is run first. RG3 doesn't even have 400 attempts. Still, RG3 has protected the ball better than Luck, but if we ran that type of offense, he would probably have more picks. Just sayin' ...

I think you talk about completion % 66.4 to 54.3 and Yards per attempt 8.27 vs 6.98. When comparing, talk about the expectations as a natural passer. RG3 wasnt suppose to do this, Luck was expected too. The 8.27 per attempt crushes any arguement of screens, short passes. RG3 is leading the league with 8.27 meaning he is getting the ball down the field and doing at a very accurate clip. Also you talk about the interceptions too.

The crazy thing is RG3 is a much better pure passer than originally thought, and he is doing this convincingly better than Luck.

I think the rush, big plays speak for themself from RG3.

I think if they bring up scheme its the equivalent of a weak arguement of who you played and beat. You cant determine the schedule just like RG3 couldnt develop the scheme.

I guess the real question is what has ROY been based on in the past? Individual preformance or team record. MVP is more a team record achievement to me. How "Valuable" are you to your team. ROY is more stat based and individual accomplishments in my mind. If you take team performance and records away then RGIII has had a better Rookie year than anyone really. I would also like to see if someone knows the QB ratings of Rookie QBs in the past. Has anyone ever been over 100 in their Rookie year? I think baring a total colapse by RGIII Sunday, he will finsih the regular season with a QB rating over 100. Has that ever been done with as many games as he has played this year?

Yeah I don't buy that thinking, because the Colts really had one bad year. They haven't been a franchise mired in mediocrity. I do understand they have many new players.

Luck has had a solid season but not the most efficient in my opinion. I mean the turnovers alone have been prolific and at times horrific. Luck this year is like that NBA player who you say "Wow! He scored 40 points tonight" and then you see he was 13-38 from the field, 4-10 from 3 point range, and 12-12 from the line" (don't ask me if that adds up to 40, I didn't do the math).

But speak from your heart man, you're a lifelong DC resident. Talk about how the two most important positions in DC are President of the US and Redskins QB. And RG3 has revitalized not just the franchise, but the community.

Excellent point and definitely something to emphasize, I can't ever remember a season like this. What he's done in uniting people around the DMV is nothing short of incredible. I can't go anywhere in public or at work with Skins gear on without getting into a conversation with someone about what the Skins have done, or what RG3 is going to do next. It's crazy thinking about how one guy has brought us a lot of people together like this.

I'm jsut curious, if Luck were a Redskin and RG3 was a Colt, and they're stats were the same, what would we say about RG3? Probably that he plays in a safer offense and Luck throws it downfield more. Both guys are very very good for rookies. But in the passing game, Indy w/out question demands more from Luck than we do with RG3.

W/out question.

Luck might have more yards passing simply because he hasn't enjoyed the running game that Gryphon has. To me this point narrows the passing yardage gap between the two.

The yardage gap becomes much narrower when you consider what Gryphon has done with his legs, in terms of rushing yardage. And it is not just the yardage gap at stake here: Gryphon makes defenses play honest in a way that Luck does not because of his running threat.

Since the radio is interested in our perceptions of Luck, of course I think that Luck is a phenomenal talent. He has a strong, accurate arm, makes some good decisions (and will make better decisions when he is no longer a rook), and provides leadership.

But I personally have no Luck envy. As phenomenal as Luck has been, I am very happy that we have Gryphon.

Luck has too many turnovers.

Some stats. He's way behind in yards, attempts, completions, and slightly behind in TDs. Now granted, I would prefer RGIII's stats to Luck's so lets get that cleared up before any knuckleheads decide to read more into than what's said.

Bottom line is, Luck has less to work with than RGIII does, and is asked to do more than RGIII is. Would he be causing that many TOs if he had a running game like we do? Who knows. Does Luck have a Trent Williams or a Montgomery blocking for him? Not hardly. Our 3rd string TE(paulsen) has outperformed all of their TEs. (including Fleener)

Remember, that Colts defense is one that gave up 352 rushing yards the other week so it's not like that defense is carrying the team. It's not.
