Yes, see if Brady, Breeze, Eli, Payton, Matt, Rivers, or Rodgers ever said the stupid things our QB has. For that matter Jason Campbell, all the horrible thing he went through and never did he compromise his team. RG3 has the talent and Campbell had the mentality. I hope against hope, that sitting RG3 will help him realize that a franchise qb always puts everyone ahead of himself. He tells his father never treat me like a baby and keep your mouth shut. He stands by his team and his coach no matter what. The rest will take care of itself. A coaches record will dictate whether he stays or goes. I have listened to every former gm on the radio and TV and they all say they are shocked at the things that RG3 has done since he got hurt. Anyone failing to recognize that is in denial.
Ah yes, those paragons of virtue ... Tom "Temper Tantrum" Brady, Eli "Trade Me Or My Daddy Will Beat You Up" Manning, Phillip "I Will Taunt Opposing Teams 'Cause I Can" Rivers and Aaron "Discount Double Check" Rogers. No distractions (particularly in their early years) there.
Stick by their coach? The opportunities for RGIII to throw MS under the bus have been both obvious and numerous. The assertion he has not "stuck by a coach" who has ignored his input on play calling, leaked stories critical of him and now talks of benching him for his safety after playing him against one of the top defenses on a slick snowy field is ignorant. RGIII could have very easily pulled a McNabb but, instead, rebuked McNabb and his weasely ways. Basically, RGIII has kept his mouth shut and tried to say the right things when called out. At the same time, he's not a f'ing robot. He's 23 dealing with sudden fame and adoration. For the most part, when he HAS had something to say, you hear it from him and not from some anonymous "leak".
I am sure you, in all your perfection, would have handled the immediate fame and intense scrutiny so much better (which none of the listed QB's, other than the Mannings, had to deal with - and Eli, BTW, caught tons of sh** early for having a bad, sulky attitude). I, on the other hand, remember 23 and am constantly amazed that I didn't torpedo my life with some of the dumb things I did and said back then.
Former GM's are shocked by what he has done? Like what? Work hard to come back by opening day? Do a commercial or two? A documentary (which, when shot, included Luck but he got cut 'cause he's got the charisma of damp rice). Sorry, every GM I have heard has said "it's a tough situation and he needs to learn and mature." Wow. ... now that's some inciteful sh**.
The wheels are coming off the bus and, quite recently, it is MS, not RGIII, who is showing the complete lack of character and willingness to throw anyone and everyone under the bus.
If you can't see that RGIII is a young guy with solid character trying to navigate a difficult situation brought on by instant fame, you, sir, are at "Denial: Boss Level".
