Sure, if you look at a proven commodity for a) awesome WR and b) awesome KR/PR.
sure for a guy who didnt play a whole lot this year and is injury prone...yep thats a good deal. lol..

And Orakpo wouldn't be cheap for them. But he might take a little bit less to go there. That Leo position is perfect for his skill set.
Jacksonville too, but I don't know Orakpo well enough if he'd go to Jacksonville on the idea that they have a brighter future than the Redskins. That'd be a pretty aggressive stretch based only off this season.
Chicago though, man, he'd really be the centerpiece of a defense that needs more pieces.

SFO - Wait until we get the new sheets up here, then we can all compare notes and make any applicable changes.
Also stay in Ontario where it's safe... Quebec is a disaster.
Hey CrazyCanuck, I will stay in Ontario thanks for the heads up man ;) I love going over to Montreal though once in a while (what a city). I don't think I'll stop that practice. Where are you at in Quebec?
Ok cool, thanks for the salary cap update. I would like to compare notes for sure. Let me know and I can get you the spreadsheet I have. Right now even with Meriweather still on the books (but not Fletcher or Morgan or any other FA) I have us at just under $33mill of cap space. I'd like to know where I'm off.
This includes the $1.4mill of carryforward and the escalators that came out last week for Polumbus and Helu. Also I have us at only $155K of dead money contracts. Also just calculating the top 51.

He is awesome talent but I don't think anyone can call him an awesome WR.

Don't know how Seattle keeps getting great talent on the cheap.
Harvin/Rice/etc.
Well Harvin wasn't cheap; both he and rice have significant health issues (both missed significant amount of time). But when you have an elite defense and running game, you can take a gamble injury prone WRs.
Because Pete and their GM actually know what they are doing. Hopefully the Skins play copycat.
I don't know if I want our team to gamble on injury prone WRs...again.

Hey SFO.... I'm in Montreal... It's a nice place to visit but I don't recommend living here. I'm ready to cross the Ontario border and commute at this point. :)
As for the cap, the new sheets should be up here soon. I think you'll find our numbers match pretty closely:
- I have a carryover of about $1.6M. I have the $155K of dead money and the salary escalators for Helu and Polumbus. And I'm calculating Top 51.
- Merriweather is a $2.2M savings, if you take him out you'll be at the $30M cap room number.
When the new sheets are posted we can dig further but we're all in the same ballpark.

Harvin is cheap? The trade for Harvin involved a 1st, a 3rd, and a 7th. His contract is $11 mil. a year.
I bet their GM and Carroll wished they hadn't done the deal for Harvin. What has Harvin provided for Seattle so far? They could have just kept their picks and saved the money. He's obviously not a top wr cause he can't stay on the field. I think they thought that he was the one player that could push them over the top. They were wrong. They're already a great team w/out him.

I think it comes down to knowing what type of team they wanted to build and executing their plan to perfection. They had a true blueprint, not sure we really ever had one under MS.

They had a true blueprint, not sure we really ever had one under MS.The plan under Mike Shanahan was to do things the "right way" which more or less boiled down to making only easy decisions, making public examples of players, tearing down and never building, and then a desperation play for a quarterback two years in. You know, the right way.

Ah sorry to hear things aren't that good in Quebec these days CC. I don't blame you for wanting to live in Ontario even though we are getting taxed to death as well. If it's any consolation the winter this year sucks donkey balls as well. I still love Montreal, but maybe it's just mostly Crescent street and the "scenery" ;)
Ok so we are close. The only discrepancy I have is that you are around $30mill and I'm at $33 but if I take Meriweather out then I'd have an additional $2.2M of savings so then $35M total. Sounds good once you post your sheets we can compare closer.
