Peyton didn't lose the game on his own. That D was fierce and Denver was simply overmatched.I thought the SEA D-line did a great job just rushing four.

Chico23231 02-03-2014, 09:46 AM One thing that stuck out was Marshawn Lynch got effing handled by the Broncos' defense. They committed to stopping Lynch and said "Wilson, beat us." And he did. Big game by Wilson, 88.1 QBR, 123 rating. Big on 3rd down. Shoulda had 3 TDs, got 2. He played very well, but without Seattle's D, his offensive output doesn't beat Denver. MTK 02-03-2014, 10:06 AM Wilson made plays when he had to and was efficient. That team could win with a lot of different guys at QB. budw38 02-03-2014, 10:08 AM Peyton didn't lose the game on his own. That D was fierce and Denver was simply overmatched. Exactly . Hard to believe so many people think that the QB is the sole reason for winning / losing . Joe Montana is remembered for his 4 Super Bowl wins , 2 blowouts and 1 big comeback . Montana should get praised for the great games , but SF was a better team than Cin. and far better than Denver & Miami. Now if you took Montana's 3 losses to NY 85 - 90 , and the loss to Minn. ( 87 ) , you would think he choked . It is a team game . Congrads to R. Wilson and that D . budw38 02-03-2014, 10:11 AM I'm sorry but Wilson didn't beat anyone. He played very well, but without Seattle's D, his offensive output doesn't beat Denver. I agree with you . However I do think Wilson is a heck of a QB . Chico23231 02-03-2014, 10:12 AM Yeah I dont know. I think Wilson has proven in the past if he needed to be clutch and bring a team back from being down, he could have. Thought he played outstanding on a big stage. One thing telling is the coaching staff wasnt conservative even with a lead. They continued to put the ball in Wilson hand to make plays running and throwing. A "game manager" is a term used when a coaching staff doesnt have trust or full confidence in their QB to win games. If you watch Seattle, you never get that sense at anytime, in any game situation with Wilson. Defensewins 02-03-2014, 10:13 AM Peyton didn't lose the game on his own. That D was fierce and Denver was simply overmatched. I think the main reason I was for Seattle in the Superbowl was all of the talk weeks before the Superbowl of "if Peyton Manning wins this super bowl he will be seen as the greatest QB of all time." That is stupid. Not to mention how much that jinxed Manning. I am tired of today's pass happy fans and media that do not understand the only reason all of these passing records are being broken is because of the rule changes created by the NFL in the last 10-20 years to promote passing (ratings), like you can not touch a receiver after 2.5 yards from line of scrimmage and many others to protect the Qb. Individual stats and records are not big deal when you are throwing the more than any one ever has in the history of the game. Or that your teams is so one dimensional that you lose the big game. Winning Superbowl's trumps all individual stats and records. Ruhskins 02-03-2014, 10:14 AM I agree with you . However I do think Wilson is a heck of a QB . I'm not saying he is not, but people act like he's carrying Seattle on his shoulders. JoeRedskin 02-03-2014, 10:16 AM Wilson is a good QB. Not sure he is elite - yet. With that D, and M. Lynch, he has the luxury of developing by playing with a good team. He has all the intangibles to make it to the Hall of Very Very Good. From what have seen of him, however, he still has accuracy and arm strength issues. I openly confess that I may be wrong on both issues. |
