Champ Bailey was released, would he finish his career where it started?

Nope.

Scratch D'Qwell Jackson off your list. Signs 5 year, $22 million (I think) deal with Indy

No way. He's old, slow and broken down.

That's a really good cap friendly deal for a guy whose solid, yet not flashy. Would have been nice to have him come on board, but Indy has a more consistent atmosphere of success the last decade or so, so I can't blame the guy.

Lil cheaper than I expected. Take the best available ilb off the board, so now that market ahould be set. I hope Riley's camp pays attention to the numbers. He deserves half that.

I was hoping he would choose to sign with us. Do you know if we were talking to him at all?

Per Roto wire:

Free agent FS Jairus Byrd is reportedly seeking an average annual salary of at least $9 million per season.

That would make Byrd the highest paid safety in the game. Dashon Goldson got a five-year, $41.25 million deal from the Bucs a year ago, Eric Weddle signed a five-year, $40 million deal with the Chargers in 2011 and Eric Berry's rookie deal will pay him $8.41 million in 2014. Byrd is a good bet to get what he wants thanks to the rapidly rising salary cap and growing need for an elite center fielder in today's NFL. The Browns and former Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine could show interest.

So 40+ million for a safety? You in?

I don't believe we were ever serious about him

Nah, the Browns can have him.
