over the mountain 09-30-2014, 04:47 PM At least we can avoid the "is he only having a great year because it's a contract year" discussion this time around.
there are 12 more games to evaluate rak .. but yes, at least we can avoid that uncertainty heading into a decision making offseason.
i hoped he would prove to be a defensive force and worth good money, but having him prove he is not a defensive force and worth only decent money is the next best result for us imo.
at seasons end, i want to have a clear and definitive picture on several players. rak is no. 1 on the list.

Polumbus is number two. Not number two on the list ....just ...number two.
calia 09-30-2014, 05:16 PM BTW, even though we just got whacked by the Giants, we STILL have the #4 offense and the #8 defense in the NFL: NFL Stats: Team (http://www.nfl.com/stats/team)
Crazy. Stats, of course, only tell you so much.

...and in this case tell us absolutely nothing. If our offense or defense finishes the year in the top 20 I will be amazed. I was excited about the offense going into the year, but it was always with the QB and right side of the line somewhere in the back of my mind. Now they are front and center in my mind.
calia 09-30-2014, 05:38 PM I actually think our offense should finish in the top 20 -- maybe even top 10. We still have very good skills players, and with the exception of SF, Seattle, and AZ (3 of 12 remaining games), none of the other defenses we face are particularly good.
Our defense, on the other hand, started strong (against crap offenses), but without any real depth, the injuries are pretty harmful. We also have some folks consistently underperforming (Orakpo, Riley, and Merriweather, I am talking to you). If Hatcher can get healthy it helps a lot. And if Cofield can come back and perform well, that does too. I think Robinson has performed very well -- it's been a good surprise, and let's hope he stays healthy. Our secondary will be a mess -- not much positive to see there, although I am hoping the young guys (Amerson and Breeland, in particular, can show some growth by season's end). Our safety situation is just not good. Clark has leadership and is a solid tackler, but doesn't represent a threat to the passing game. When the D line isn' dinged up, the back of the D gets exposed even worse.
punch it in 09-30-2014, 05:47 PM Well the O didnt look that good against the Giants. Hell Drew Stanton and the Cardinals put up more points than we did, and that was an away game for them. We will see though....

6 turnovers will do that to you -- that won't happen every week.
mooby 09-30-2014, 07:34 PM As if we needed another reason to hate the FCC, here goes ISP's favorite shill talking about banning networks from using Redskins on the air. (http://preview.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/fcc-mulls-banning-redskins-name/ar-BB6C7vq)
Given that Wheeler already disapproves of the name, how long until networks are banned from using Redskins on the air?
CRedskinsRule 09-30-2014, 07:46 PM i was just gonna post that.
at this point, and i know i am caving, but i just want the Skins to move on. of course i want them to start winning consistently also, so you know how much what i want matters

It is still early but Dallass' defense has been much improved.
