My God. Like button. Next it will be brandon meriweather being the difference maker. artmonkforhallofamein07 09-26-2014, 12:50 PM I know they've been saying it, but Kirk Cousins straight shits his pants with any pressure ni his face. If he has a clean pocket, he's as good as any of them, but with even a little pressure his mechanics go ALLLLL to shit. Agreed Big problem with that as well is I don't think you can correct that SmootSmack 09-26-2014, 01:02 PM I keep wanting to write something here, but I just don't know where to start. Just horrible all around DynamiteRave 09-26-2014, 01:05 PM To add insult to injury... Redskins Linebacker Keenan Robinson Tweets That He Was Hit by Drunk Driver After Game | NBC4 Washington (http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Redskins-Linebacker-Keenan-Robinson-Tweets-That-He-Was-Hit-by-Drunk-Driver-After-Game-277217792.html?_osource=SocialFlowFB_DCBrand) over the mountain 09-26-2014, 01:06 PM merriweather has not looked good for the 2 games he has been back. no one in the secondary has looked good but he is still our best secondary player imo with amerson. merriweather and amerson are the only 2 secondary starters we have that might be starters on 5 other teams tops. ------------------------ Receivers Number on roster: 8 Total percentage of cap space: 14.96 Total cap value: $19,282,219 NFL average: $13,283,803 Biggest cap hit: Pierre Garcon ($9.7 million) Underpaid: Believe it or not, DeSean Jackson. He only counts $4.25 million against the cap this year. There are 30 receivers who have a higher cap figure this season. This is the result of concerns over his work ethic, etc. But as far as on the field, Jackson represents value. Looking to the future: Garcon has three years left on his contract, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him want an extension before it’s over. Both Garcon and Jackson’s contracts end in 2016. Leonard Hankerson’s rookie deal ends after this season. He has a lot to prove. Washington Redskins salary-cap breakdown: Offense - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/6849/redskins-salary-cap-breakdown-offense) Cornerback Number on roster: 7 Total percentage of cap space: 6.1 Total cap value: $7,873,638 NFL average: $12,316,626 Biggest cap hit: Tracy Porter ($2,800,000) Underpaid: DeAngelo Hall is coming off his best season in Washington and will count only $2.1 million against the cap – 55 corners will occupy more cap space. Looking to the future: E.J. Biggers is the only corner who will be a free agent after this season. But it wouldn’t be surprising to see them draft someone else, in case Hall’s play slips that much or Porter doesn’t help or just to add depth. Richard Crawford still has to prove his knee is sound and that he’ll continue improving. Same with Chase Minnifield. Safety Number on roster: 7 Total percentage of cap space: 2.91 Total cap value: $3,746,719 NFL average: $8,237,006 Biggest cap hit: Brandon Meriweather ($1 million) Underpaid: No one here is underpaid, though if Ryan Clark can coax out another good year and help groom some young safeties, then his $635,000 cap hit will qualify. But they also have to have young safeties worth grooming. Looking to the future: Meriweather and Clark have one-year deals, which means the Redskins could well be in the same position next offseason in looking for starting safeties. Of course, they could still draft one (I would) and hope that between the rookie and the two young holdovers from last year, Bacarri Rambo and Phillip Thomas, that they’ll find one starter and then only need to find one more. Thomas must prove that he’s not only healthy but can move as he did before the Lisfranc injury. Rambo has to earn a job this year. Neither holdover is a given to be a starter – in 2014 or beyond. I couldn't take it anymore! It's kind of like a movie that I've seen over and over again. I know what's going to happen, but I still think if I watch the movie again, it will have some sort of alternate ending! skinsguy 09-26-2014, 01:11 PM To add insult to injury... I think this franchise really is cursed! RFKRat 09-26-2014, 01:16 PM I hope Jay can make good use of the info gleaned from this game....players, coaches, BU's, etc Beyond that, it was a...tragedy I will morn for at least a few days...and pints That's another thing that bugs the hell out of me though. Gruden's comments after the game about how this was a "wakeup call". What? That's a perfect example of the delusional arrogance that has seeped into every corner of this franchise, from the owner to the coaches to the players and sadly to a chunk of the fan base as well. And certainly the local media. Coach, you were 1-2 coming into the game...what did you need a freaking wake up call for? Is the sky in your world purple and were the Redskins 3-0 in some bizarre fantasy reality? You beat Jacksonville...a pathetic excuse for an NFL franchise. That's it. That was this franchise's ONE measly win going back almost a calendar year. Most local high school teams would probably look like world beaters against Jacksonville. Arrrrrrrrrrgh. mredskins 09-26-2014, 01:21 PM That's another thing that bugs the hell out of me though. Gruden's comments after the game about how this was a "wakeup call". What? And people argue we are not in the same class as the JAX, CLE and OAK of the world. LOL!!!!!! Shit at this point we are insulting them by saying we are in the same class as them. I swear every day the purple looks better. |
