What do you guys think of Jeff Fisher as DC?
Gruden fires defensive coordinator Joe BarrySolidSnake84 01-05-2017, 06:52 PM What do you guys think of Jeff Fisher as DC? Chief X_Phackter 01-05-2017, 06:59 PM What do you guys think of Jeff Fisher as DC? Nah. Was he even a good coordinator? I can't remember. He's been a head coach for over 20 years I think...some success there, but overall pretty average I think. Alvin Walton 01-05-2017, 07:12 PM What do you guys think of Jeff Fisher as DC? He's a douche bag. He can go eat a bowl of dicks. punch it in 01-05-2017, 07:14 PM He's a douche bag. He can go eat a bowl of dicks. In my humble opinion, this is one of the top three posts I have ever read on here. At least for the 5 years I have been here. FrenchSkin 01-05-2017, 07:25 PM Barry shouldn't have been hired in the first place. It was a country club hire. He never had the talent to make it work anyway. But his inability to be aggressive and stay passive with below average talent was what did it for me. If you have scrubs you have to be able to scheme things up and he seemed to never be able to do that. The 3rd and longs that were always converted also were probably his downfall. I hope Gruden hires the best person that's out there, and not one of his Tampa or Cincy buddies. Even more than his play calling, some personnel decisions by this defensive staff drove me crazy. Starting with sticking with Cravens at LB. Among other things, Cooley gave some good reasons for a defensive staff change in his "what went wrong this year?" segment: ESPN 980 Audio Vault - Play Now (http://stationcaster.com/player_skinned.php?s=65&c=21773&f=5800343) Schneed10 01-05-2017, 07:26 PM In my humble opinion, this is one of the top three posts I have ever read on here. SFREDSKIN 01-05-2017, 07:28 PM I'd put my money on the original head hunter. he has ties to the Richie Petitbone tree and my opinion is a good fiery DC who hasn't had the talent in the past but has done a pretty good job. Indianapolis Colts: Greg Manusky (http://www.colts.com/team/coaches/Greg-Manusky/6dd78169-300c-4a8f-a414-6e50fdf67126?qwr=fullsite_temporary) Bangee7 01-05-2017, 07:37 PM I saw the Barry firing coming, but was also quite pleased to hear that Fewell won't be the DC...horrible job coaching the secondary IMO. Safety play never got better under him. They really cleaned house...even throwing out the strength guy! If I was Gruden, you damn well bet I would hire someone that I knew I could work with. There is no way I'd ever want that Ditka/Buddy Ryan drama going on in my club. I'd opt for the Joe Gibbs approach...one team pulling for each other. But we're all different types & we'll see how it plays out. At least it's a change that had to be made. In 2014, under Manusky.... The Colts also finished second in the league in third down percentage allowed (33.3%), which was the lowest single-season percentage allowed in team history since 1972. From Weeks 4 through 7, the Colts only allowed one third down conversion in four straight games, marking the longest such streak by an NFL team since 1970. Meks 01-05-2017, 07:42 PM A live look at Gruden's meeting this morning with the defensive staff: http://i.imgur.com/edtbi2r.gif All of these clowns should have been fired. They deserve it. Th is Gold. No pun intended. |
