4th and short
I don't know how it will effect the outcome of the game, and I do know that I have said this team needs to be more aggressive, but damnit, you take the points there. Don't take 3 off the board when you could have made a one possession game. That was just a terrible decision by Joe Gibbs! I cannot believe that call. Also, if you were going to go, you don't hand to a back w/o Sellers, you have to run the sneak.

Re: 4th and short
whatever, it caused them to be backed up and led to a three and out. We took a chance. It didn't pay off. I'll live. We should have been able to get a foot. A TD would have been huge.

Re: 4th and short
Yeah, a field goal would have been too, then it would be a TD game. Have faith in your defense!

Re: 4th and short
I think by going for it you show faith in both your O and D. You show your O that you believe they can make the play and show your D if you do not make the play you have faith they can stop them. We cannot have it both ways one week everyone is ticked we kicked the FG and the next week people are ticked we went for thr first down. I know we use hine sight to go back to blame the coaching staff for the calls they make.

Re: 4th and short
Gibbs is putting it all on the line today.
I didn't hate the decision. We've been blasting him all year for not being aggressive. |

Re: 4th and short
exactly and i think the media has gotten to him. I think he feels he has to take shots like that or else he would be criticized after the game for being too soft.

Nah, I just think he sees the season on the line, if there was a time to go balls out today is the day

Re: 4th and short
Agreed but i still think that the media haggling im after every game is going to effect what he does. He gets questioned more than most coaches. I just can't see that not effecting him in the games. When he gets into the press conferences, you can see that he takes a defensive position and knows that questions about his play calls will come up. I can definitely see gibbs thinking about what people will think during the games because it is surrounding him all week long.

That being said, those who are saying that play cost us the game are silly. That was in the 3rd quarter, we had 2 more drives into the red zone after that and didn't convert points..

Re: 4th and short
I would prefer some selective aggression, that turnover on downs keeps this thing at a 2 possession game, a FG makes it 1 possession. I was screaming as soon as the call was made.

Re: 4th and short
However, I do have to say that if he was really serious about the whole "being more physical than the Bucs" thing, then it shows a tremendous amount of faith in his team. I like the leadership, unfortunately, I still hated the call

Re: 4th and short
Nice decision to go for it on 4th. Play call sucked though - JC should've QB sneaked it.

Re: 4th and short
Im totally with hurrykaine. Gotta go with a QB sneak there, not an uber predictable run to the *gasp* left. I like the aggressive nature of the call.

On the other hand, if we get a 4th down running play blocked up front, Portis ends up in the endzone on the play. Kendall needs to give a better effort than a simple lunge at Derrick Brooks.
