If a player thinks he's just playing for a contract, he's more liklely to do what he can to rack up the gaudy stats and less likely to do the dirty work that doesn't show up quite as easily, like blocking.

Understood. I mean I realize the argument that the Redskins don't take care of their own (though I think it's a bit exaggerated). How much of a raise die Ryan Clark get for going to the Steelers by the way?
