Re: Pioli takes the Chiefs GM Job
Why would you care what happens to Iowa?
![]() Funny thing is I'm pretty sure that in any other year were Vinny isn't our GM/Director or whatever he is then we'd see the Redskins as a major contender for Pioli's services. However as has been mentioned before, with the Chiefs, he has: 1. A large compliment (or so I believe) of high draft picks. 2. $30 million of cap space to play around with 3. Intriguing Free Agents along the lines 4. A chance to assemble a coaching staff 5. A chance to work for a storied franchise 6. And of course ridiculous compensation. If he had come to the Redskins he would have had to deal with 1. 4 draft picks 2. A lot less then $30 million of cap space 3. Limited money to sign free agents 4. A coach that would be difficult to justify firing after going 8-8 in his first year. 5. A storied franchise, ok well thats good.. 6. Of course he would get top dollar, maybe even more then the Chiefs were willing to pay.
