I heard Cowherd today too, his logic was a bit flawed. First of all, it's fine to grade the draft -- it just depends on what your terms are. Obviously you can't grade the draftees based on what they've done on the field as a pro because they haven't played yet. But you can certainly grade the draft based on the information already available, the colleges they came from, the systems they were in, how those systems are adaptable to the pro game, how they fared against the competition, their history of injuries, football smarts, their skill sets as they relate to other players at the same position, blah, blah, blah. So yes, there are ways to assess what a team was able to accomplish by the players that were available to them.

Without a doubt, the praise given to the Jets for taking Sanchez would be converted into utter contempt if he were snatched up by Dan Snyder. The fact remains though, our quarterback situation was much more settled than it was in New York. So the criticism might have been valid.
