Need Some Info On The Rule...i Know For One Thing About The Catch The Whistle Was Blown To Soon I Assume..but He Was Not Down By Contact When He Made The Catch If I Seen It Correctly..it Should Have Been A Td..madden And Them Didn't Cover It Enough..

Should have been a catch. He was hit, then gained possession, and was not touched. Inadvertant whistle killed the play.

Great play, but so unusual it threw everyone off, except Santana.

The play should not have been stopped. He was never touched after he gained possession

If the ball was still not in possession and still moving around and not touch the ground , The whistle should not have been blown. would have probably been a momentum changing play had the whistle not been blown...

Also the PI on Smoot was bogus.. should have been Offensive PI... he pushed Smoot down first..

how about the Moss lets give up on the play no catch,2 games in a row now he's given up on plays and cost us

Opinions differ on wether he was downed or not but the ref blew the play dead so....

wasn't he still trying to gain control of the ball while the defensive back was celebrating?

Absolutely right. The catch was made after contact and Moss should have been able to run. The official was wrong, but it isn't reviewable and if one play (any play) is the reason between winning and losing than you didn't do enough the rest of the game to win. I would argue that slapping a player while standing next to the ref deserves an unnecessary roughness penalty and throwing a CB to the ground should be offensive PI too. The other side is that a Giant (don't remember who) was called for a facemask on Portis that didn't exist. Refs aren't perfect so you can't leave the game in their hands.

Not "mute" - it's "moo", like a cow's opinion, it doesn't matter.

David Tyree may have caught the ball with his helmet, but Santana caught the ball with his nuts. LOL. He still should have caught all those other balls he dropped though.
