Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
The good:
RGIII looked healthy and made a few awesome plays, I thought. Great throws to DJax, nice runs, excellent throws to Helu. Helu has been great all year, but for the punt block whiff. DJax. Wow. Morris. The Bad: RGIII had a few boneheaded plays and few bad throws. (What kind of gets me though is that the team EXPECTS him to win it for us, while they go out and try hard to win it when KC/Colt play, because they don't expect those guys to win it on their own.) Safety. Obviously. Weak pass rush in crucial situations. Red zone run d (!!) The Ugly: Bus crashes, protests and locker room reporting.

Good:
- RG3's seems healthy and made some good plays - Morris' was effective - DJax continues to be effective Bad: - Offense lack of points in the first half - Defense shitting the bed in the second half I still think it was a good idea to start RG3. No point in keeping him benched IMO.

I think he meant "Safeties - we have none."
To me, got to top priority in the offseason. Get someone back there who can cover and support Amerson/Breeland.

Clark played horribly, even Gruden called him out during his presser.

I didn't get a chance to listen to the presser, but I hope Jay Gruden did call out some people. Hope he's calling out some of the coaching as well.

Re: Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
I didn't see the game, but I have read about it and seen some highlights. Sounds like our safeties were terrible, and that the D evaporated in the second half. Did Phillip Thomas play at all? If so, how did he look? Not saying that he's a solution necessarily, but it sounds like he couldn't do a lot worse than our starters did yesterday.
Looks like Kerrigan had a very quiet day. 3 tackles, no sacks, not sure if he had any QB pressures. Did the Vikes just decide that he was the guy to stop and had him doubled? If so, I know that Hatcher had one sack (as did Murphy), but did anyone on the D line play well? It seems like we have Hatcher, but no other real contributors up front. I hope we can get Cofield back healthy soon, and maybe the D line can show some improvement. The Vikings were ranked 29th in offense and put up 29 points on us. That's pathetic. No way that they should be able to score more points against us than Dallas, Seattle, or Houston (and only one less than Arizona).

Re: Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
Good:
RGIII's positive effect on the run game; RGIII's deep throws; Tres Way; Offense's 4th Quarter response to Minn's FIRST long TD drive. Bad: Defense's 2nd half collapse - inability of players to execute schemes called; Defense allowing TWO 70+ yard TD drives in the 4th quarter to a bad offense; Hazlett for failing to adjust his D in 2nd half; O-Line pass blocking (or occasional lack thereof); RGIII holding the ball wayyyy too long on several occasions; Did I mention Hazlett? Well, I am mentioning him again.

Re: Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
The Good:
Morris having a good showing. DJax, good as usual. Special teams did an alright job. Breeland made a few plays here and there. RG3. The bad: Defense collapsed the 2nd half of the game. Haz is predictable and has no idea what it means to gameplan and adjust. O-line seems to only be able to block properly (at least sometimes) for people not named RG3. RG3.

Re: Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
Ryan Clark is supposed to lead our defense through experience and communication. But we've had more blown coverages - "miscommunications" - than any time that I can remember. This has been true all season long.

Re: Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
We heard all about the value of leadership BS when Fletcher was on his last legs here. Keenan Robinson has been a big upgrade. We need to find the same type of upgrade for Clark after this year.

Re: Skins-Vikes Post game good & bad
I like Gruden. Dude is upfront and tells it like it is. Also note the comment about the "fragile ego" was more or less directed towards Robert. It fits because you constantly see Robert tweeting some sort of defense to his detractors. I'm with Jay, man the fuck up, grow some thick skin or get the hell out of the league.

You don't see great coaches call that shit. Most would pound the rock, but if you do pass it's downfield so if intercepted the opponent has a long field to go. If Gruden is learning, it's very slow at this point. |

Adding a quality FS would make the whole defense better. You can attack the line more if you know someone has got your back.
