Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Cant wait to see this board after we spank the fucking eagles. Than we can pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and toast yet again (like last week) to how we can easily win our division and how we have a good group of players and mojo and hip hip hooray.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
I guess I'm wondering if this all changes when Deshawn Jackson comes back and the Redskins have a legit deep threat. You guys know that Jackson wants to play against the Eagles in 9 days or so. At least then, Cousins can take some deep shots to a proven deep threat. He might still underthrow and get picked, but hey, maybe it will be 40 yards down the field and not inside the Redskins 20.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
One other thing I meant to say earlier. Clearly, Cousins can't be the QB (at least yet) that can win the game with his arm, so I think it was a mistake to ask him to try. They gave up on the run, so yeah, they went down early in the game and the Giants used 8 min of the second half with one drive and their was a sense of urgency to score, but right now, asking Cousins to make plays with his arm is just unrealistic and likely to fail. If we stuck with the run, we stood a chance. It may have been a small chance, and with a better and/or more veteran QB they may have stood a better chance with shifting more to passing, but I think this team has to except their limitations.
They will lose games because they are one dimensional, and they will likely not make it to the playoffs unless they can find a way to throw the ball well, but I believe it is worth sacrificing the season on our own terms to establish an identity in the league as bruisers that will make you hurt even when they lose. I think there is too high of a risk that this team will continue to flounder unless they hold onto some identity and build on their strengths. I'd rather they go 7-9 looking like a team that knows who they are and is clearly building themselves into something then 8-8 looking like they don't know where this bus is going (and more likely like 5-11 looking like fools). |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Stepping away from the QB conversation for a minute, it's become more and more evident that Gruden is in way over his head. Under his 'leadership' turnovers, penalties and simply looking unprepared. In 19 games, the Skins have scored more than 3 offensve TD in a game 4 times. That's pathetic. He leads the league in excuses and minimizing the mistakes his teams makes. The guy is not a guy who is going to be successful here.
As for the QB, let's see what happens over the next 4 games.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
you and the article author went full SJW. You never go full SJW. What is there to be offended about with that fan dressing as a NA? I didn't see anything disrespectful there, did you?
As for the game, glad I didn't see it. We knew we are a bad team Mccloughan is trying to rebuild, we suck on primetime, and the Giants and others always get a win from us when they need to save their season. Of course we lost. In keeping with the central theme here: |

Would it be fair to say he inherited an absolute shit show? Can we give him more than 19 games to get his guys and his philosophy in place? Look at the turnover on this team since the 2013 season ended. Not to mention the circus sideshow that has been the RG-3 saga he walked into. Im not saying he is gonna be great, but I dont think many coaches in history would have turned our team around at this point. |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Washington Redskins
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...york-just-yet/ – In years past, we’ve become accustomed to seeing “good Kirk Cousins” or “bad Kirk Cousins” game by game. This season, we have seen both the good and the bad—last night (-0.9) was no different. His first interception was a poor decision, and he left multiple scores on the field with under-thrown deep balls, particularly when targeting Jordan Reed (-0.9) early in the game. Some solid short and intermediate passing improved his performance somewhat, but fans will still be wondering how the game might have panned out if Cousins had hit on at least one of his opportunities with Reed earlier in the game. – Speaking of Jordan Reed (+2.0 receiving), the Redskins’ tight end continues to be the most productive and most important target in the Washington offense. Snagging six catches for the third game in a row, his numbers would have been even better but for Cousins errant deep passing. The only thing letting Reed’s performances down is his inline blocking (-2.2 run-block), and with the injuries they have suffered at the position, they are simply unable to limit his responsibilities there to protect both himself and the Washington ground game. – The upgrades brought in via free agency have bolstered Washington’s defensive line early in the season, with Terrance Knighton (+1.3) producing his best game of the season so far. However, the star of Washington’s defensive line is arguably Chris Baker (+5.0), whose six stops last night tied Keenan Robinson (+0.1) for the most on the team. Through three games, Baker is Washington’s highest graded defensive lineman, and is the only member of the Washington front seven—aside from Ryan Kerrigan (+0.3)—to boast a positive grade as both a run defender and pass rusher. Top performers: DE Chris Baker (+5.0) RT Morgan Moses (+3.5) LT Trent Williams (+2.5) NT Terrance Knighton (+1.3) ILB Will Compton (+1.1) |

Maybe I'm missing something. Have you seen him demonstrate leadership? Have you seen something that indicates that he is tactically better than the man across from him? Has he done literally anything that says, sure this has a good chance to be successful?

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
I think Gruden will be a fine head coach long term. He was a rookie head coach last year. Can't hire a rookie and complain that he isn't a veteran. That said, I think Cousins will be the QB next year and his head coach, depending on performance this year, will be Gruden or Darrell Bevell with Bevell and Bill Callahan sharing OC duties. Either way, Cousins would likely get next year as a starter unless we were able to somehow draft Connor Cook which would mean we were around 2-14 this year and obviously Cousins and Gruden would be done..
Pure speculation though. As much as people complain about Cousins, there aren't very many QB's that would be available to replace him that are arguably better that are still reasonably young. Chase Daniel could fall in there though.. |
