You mean the defensive coach with the number 1 offense and bottom of the barrel defense?

I think he means the young coach who changed the culture of a team in 2 years and has a defense getting better each week. A defense that has seven first or second year players starting in the SB.

That's exactly what I mean. I don't look at head coaches as offensive or defensive. Yes, they transition, often, from coordinating either side, but my belief is that when they put on the hat as head coach, they take on a whole different aspect of responsibility. Sure, you'll see offensive guys still calling plays, but there's a heck of a lot more involved as head coach.

And the fact that Dan Quinn has been able to coach the Falcons to a Super Bowl in his second year is impressive. He's a young guy. That's why I question why someone would say the younger coaches aren't up to task when there's a young, second year head coach coaching in the Super Bowl this year.

Brief synopsis detailing each of Manusky's seasons as a defensive coordinator:

Per Kiem:

Some Redskins related coaching news: They have interviewed Tim Lewis and Chris Harris for the secondary coach position. One source said they had interviewed three coaches for this job and one would be named soon, but was unsure of the third coach. They did talk to former secondary coach Dennis Thurman when they were looking for a defensive coordinator. Also, a source confirmed that former Redskins assistant defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant and Redskins offensive assistant Shane Waldron are joining the Los Angeles Rams' staff. Pleasant, as the Washington Post first reported, will be the secondary coach. Waldron, as the Sporting News reported, will be the tight ends coach.

When we play the Rams next year, I hope we pound the shit out of them, given how McVay has shamelessly raided us (and scooped Wade Phillips). Not a good sign that assistants we really like are ready to bolt for a 30-year-old head coach instead of staying put.

I think your complaints are without merit. It is only right to allow two young coaches to accept promotions elsewhere that they were not going to get here. Wade Phillips didn't want to come here. It is as simple as that, in his case.

Agreed. No reason to attack Sean, he's a young coach with a bright future, glad he was here and helped our offense for years. Seemed like a good guy. Good luck to him and his staff.

I like the DB coach hire:

Washington Redskins hire Torrian Gray as secondary coach - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN

Gray coached current Redskins cornerback Kendall Fuller, a third-round draft choice last spring, at Virginia Tech. Ten Hokies coached by Gray were drafted in the NFL, including Seattle safety Kam Chancellor, corner Brandon Flowers and former Redskins safety Kyshoen Jarrett. Four of those players were drafted between 2014-16

I was just about to post this. As a Skins and Seminoles fan this looks to be good for our team and bad for the Gators. Double win. I like it.

As a Tech fan I know he has the college pedigree, but we'll see what kind of adjustment it will be. He has had a lot of success and VT has had a lot of secondary players turn out good in the NFL, so that bodes well.
