Just curious, what is the population of WV compared to NY/CA?

Pretty embarrassing with their education budgets, good point.

But again, California and New York…as well as New Jersey have lower literacy rates than West Virginia.

chico the cherry picker . I Like how you left out Texas and Florida . You all so forgot to mention that NJ has

5. New Jersey
The fifth-lowest literacy rate in the United States is in New Jersey, where 16.9% of adults lack basic prose literacy skills, and 83.1% are literate. Despite this, 38.6% of New Jersey adults have a Bachelor's degree or higher, the country's fifth-highest. Additionally, New Jersey also has the third-best public schools.

Of those who have low English literacy skills, 35% are White, 2% of whom are born outside of the U.S.; 23% are Black, 3% of whom are born outside of the U.S.; 34% are Hispanic, 24% of whom are born outside of the U.S.; 8% are of other races/ethnicities. Non-U.S.-born adults comprise 34% of the U.S. population with low literacy skills.

Re: Fresh Start Political Thread

Public employee unions should not be allowed.

Imo, whatever they say, the opposite is true (the union itself, not each individual person in a public union).

I swear, it seems like the whole goal is to get paid the most money possible for the least amount of work possible. And the bosses get kick-ups on all that money.

Privately, I don't think unions do much good either, but that's up for individual states and companies to decide on.

I'd never open a business anywhere that wasn't a right-to-work state, personally.

This is my 1st and last political post of 2022.

Note - I just generally don't understand liberalism. And maybe being liberal is absolutely right and being conservative is absolutely wrong. I don't know. But I just don't understand it. This is the main reason why I'm not gonna talk politics in 2022. It's not who is right or who is wrong. It's just no one here is changing their minds on either side. I'm sure lots of liberals don't understand conservatism either.

The note section was actually going to be the final post, but I'll use it as an addendum to my thoughts on public unions.

SD out.

Matty - Is there a way to switch our username? I only need to change 1 letter. scskinsfan2001 is the re-brand lol (he doesn't talk politics). Coming February 6th.

You might need to educate yourself on Unions ,while some are shit the good out weighs the bad .

Many people who know very little about Unions (young people especially ) have a negative opinion .

He was referencing Public Employee Unions and none of them are good. They are by their very nature a conflict of interest.
