Frankly, I'm surprised he's offered to testify at all even if it's at his convenience. Some are speculating he knows Congress will decline those dates, but the effort can be displayed. Interested to see if Congress complies with this.

He's being subpoenaed, he (or his PR team) knows the "rich guy running away on his yacht" narrative is not one that'll help his case in the long run... He had to make something to look a tad bit better. The "I'm willing to take time to testify while mourning my mother at the other end of the world" card is not a stupid one to play.
But all this tells me is he's feeling some heat.

I was thinking the same. I love the "he is Offering to testify crap", he is under a subpoena .
