A 1-1 start is really no big deal this year. A loss to Dallas will be unpopular around here, yes. But you've got a realitively easy 2-1 start this year. This is the main reason why I'm not worried. The pressure in that Week 2 matchup falls squarely on them, not us. Portis will likely be back, giving us a fighting chance. I honestly don't expect to see Springs before Week 4. Thats when the tough part of the schedule starts with games against Jacksonville and a road game @ NY, 2 games we can not afford to lose (unless of course, we beat Dallas).

The last game we played without Springs, I'd say we did pretty well defensively. And we didn't even have Kenny Wright then.

I get what you're saying about how we should make sure guys are healthy before playing them again, better to have them 100% than to see them be nagged by injury all year.

But I really don't like the line of thinking regarding the schedule being easy early on. In the NFL there is a very very fine line between winning and losing, and there isn't a single game on the schedule that can be taken lightly. If you don't bring it 110% against the Vikings, you lose. You have to get up for every single game, there is no taking it easy. There's no such thing as an easy 2-1 start in the NFL.

Very true. However, I have no doubts that we will give 110% every game, at least in September. And I truely believe things have a way of evening out. If Minnesota somehow upsets us Week 1, we just go take it out on Dallas the week after. Same 2-1.

If I was a gambling man, I would put this team at 2-1 after 3 weeks (barring some injury to Brunell or a prolonged recovery time to Portis).

As far as the Vikings go, they are being hit hard, not only by the injury bug, but by other circumstances (Such as Koren Robinson's arrest). It looks like we are going to be closer to 100% than they will be.

I believe Redskins start 4-0. I'm not buying into all this naysayer shit. 4-0 baby. 4-0. Take it to the bank. Toughest game in the first five weeks is at NY. I think we KILL the pukes. Bleedso will be under such pressure he won't even get the ball to where Springs would be anyway, so it won't matter.
Dallas Sucks.
