Re: The Season Is Over
Well give some examples. And what would the new structure be? Would Vinny be gone? Would Gibbs no longer be president and have control over player personnel decisions? Would the new GM still have to answer to Snyder?

Re: The Season Is Over
I wish I could think about all of this, read these posts, and stop shaking my head in disbelief. I just can't figure it out. How we went from such a high at the end last year... to this! Do the injuries really play such a huge role for us? We've seen darker days and still dug our way out of it. I wish I could feel the hope I once had....

Re: The Season Is Over
.. hm. Maybe. But I still think out TEAM was a real TEAM last year and if we could get that back (that attitude), we could turn things around.

His idea of the perfect Redskins fan is the one that drives to the stadium listening to one of the several radio stations he owns(which have about 25 minutes of actual Redskins talk per hour), pays $40 for parking, pays $90 for a seat in the nosebleeds, buys a few $9 beers and a $20 program, and watches the half assed performance on the field, all while wearing a $120 authentic Portis jersey and a $20 replica of Coach Gibbs' hat. Then they drive home, listening to the Super Official Postgame Show that is sponsored by 19 local area companies, and make a stop at Popeye's to get a bucket of the official chicken of the Washington Redskins. And the next day they go to KFC for the official chicken sandwich of the Washington Redskins. So I agree that Snyder would like the Redskins to win for marketing purposes, but he couldn't give a shit from a football standpoint. His first love is your money, not your love for the Redskins. |

Re: The Season Is Over
I completely agree that he is probably one of the best salesman in the world. Being an aspiring business owner myself, I actually admire his marketing savvy. But as the owner of our beloved Washington Redskins, I despise him.

Re: The Season Is Over
Everyone knows that it is time to rebuild. We had a promising defense last year, and anyone in their right mind should realize that it is easier to improve your strengths than your weaknesses. Our concern should've been maintaining and improving a solid defense. A solid defense provides for more possessions and more opportunities to improve a work in progress offense. Too bad we let our young talent leave (Arrington, Clark, Pierce), and brought in old stubborn free agents who have lost under poor defensive schemes for years (Carter, Rumph, Archuleta, and now vincent....all slow players) Last year was very exciting, and made me a happier person overall, however, it represented the death of us this year. I dunno if i can handle watching brunell for another game, imagine how effective our running game could be with any other QB.
As long as Dan Snyder holds this power, we will never win a superbowl |

Snyder will never hire a GM because he's afraid of being ripped off, that's why he will always stay in the mix of decision making. The bottom line, he dosen't trust anyone. |
